ADJOURN to 7:00 p.m., November 7, 1989, in memory of Angelo Mosco r TIO -4- AGENDA 10/17/79 1 i; t P , r.. c. -G G 1.- October 17,1989 TO: ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL FROM: PLANNING DEPARTMENT DONNA BUTLER, SENIOR PLANNER SUBJECT: REVISED PLANNING AND BUILDING DIVISION FEES This public hearing has been scheduled for the consideration of increasing the Planning Division fees and Building Division fees. PLANNING DIVISION The Planning Department is recommending that the fees charged for processing the various Planning applications be increased 6 %. This increase corresponds to the overall increase in the 1989 -90 City Budget. BUILDING DIVISION The Planning Department is recommending that the fees for the Building Division also be increased 5 %. Building Permit fees are based on cost per square foot figures published by ICBO. ICBO's current figures reflect a national average increase of approximately 1% over last year. Therefore, an increase in Building fees of 5% actually results in a 6% (5% + 1% ICBO increase) overall increase, consistent with the City Budget. Attached for the City Council's consideration are Resolutions 5506 and 5507 setting forth the proposed Planning and Building Division fees. If the resolutions are adopted at tonight's meeting, the effective date for the revised fees will be November 17, 1989. ACTION If the City Council determines that the fees should be adjusted as set forth in the attached resolutions the Council should have the title of the resolutions read and then adopt said resolutions. Planning and Building Fees October 17,1989 Page 1 v M M If the City Council determines that fees other than, those set forth in the resolutions should be adopted, the Council should first decide what specific fee changes should be made to the resolutions then have the titles read and the resolutions adopted.
