An important part of the Conference is the annual business meeting that will take place at noon on Friday, September 20. At this meeting, the League membership, through designated voting delegates, considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy. In order to vote on behalf of the City of Arcadia at the annual business meeting, the City Council must select, by official action, a Voting Delegate and up to two Alternate Voting Delegates, and provide evidence of such action to the League by September 13, 2013. The Delegate and Alternate Delegate(s) must be registered to attend the conference (either in its entirety or just Friday), and must register at the Voting Delegate Desk prior to the business meeting. It is customary in Arcadia to appoint a City Council Member to act as the Delegate; however, no City Council Members are scheduled to attend this year's Conference and the League's By Laws do allow the City Manager to be appointed as the delegate. City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto is scheduled to attend the League Conference, and is willing to serve as the City's Voting Delegate, and attend the business meeting, if the City Council so desires. Once the Voting Delegate has been approved, staff will forward the required information to the League.
