REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY, MARCH 4, 2014
CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Segal called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber
Conference Room.
ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
PRESENT: Council Member Amundson, Harbicht, Kovacic, Wuo, and Segal
ABSENT: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS - No one appeared
CLOSED SESSION
a. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) to confer with legal counsel
regarding the case of Christine Smith v. the City of Arcadia, a municipal corporation,
and Does 1 -50, inclusive; Los Angeles County (Pasadena) Superior Court Case No.
GC050471.
b. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) to confer with legal counsel
regarding the case of Eric T. Chen and Sylvia C. Chen v. City of Arcadia, et al.; Los
Angeles County (Central District) Court Case No. BC504634.
No reportable action was taken on the Closed Session items.
The Closed Session ended at 6:45 p.m.
CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING
CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Segal called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
INVOCATION - First Reader Kristin Bennett, First Church of Christ, Scientist
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Ryan Wright, Assistant Director of Recreation and Community Services
ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
PRESENT: Council Member Amundson, Harbicht, Kovacic, Wuo, and Segal
ABSENT: None
REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED SESSION ITEM(S)
City Attorney Deitsch announced that the City Council met in a Closed Session to consider the two
items listed on the posted agenda under Closed Session; no reportable action was taken.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS
City Manager Lazzaretto announced there was no supplemental agenda information.

MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND WAIVE THE
READING IN FULL
A motion was made by Council Member Amundson, seconded by Council Member Harbicht to read
all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Walter Steimle appeared and expressed appreciation to the City Council for encouraging residents
to attend the Police Department Community Town Hall and Neighborhood Watch meeting, and
thanked the City for organizing the meeting.
Council Member Kovacic thanked Mr. Steimle for hosting the meeting.
REPORTS FROM MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL AND CITY CLERK (including reports from the City
Council related to meetings attended at City, expense CAB 1234]).
Council Member Amundson commented on the upcoming election and provided some important
dates; and provided information on water conservation.
Council Member Harbicht had no comments.
Council Member Kovacic wished his daughter Kelly, who lives in Massachusetts, a Happy Birthday.
Mayor Pro Tern Wuo had no comments.
City Clerk Glasco had no comments.
Mayor Segal wished his father a Happy Birthday; and congratulated Floretta Lauber for receiving
Assembly Member Ed Chau's 2014 Women of the Year Award.
CONSENT CALENDAR
a. Special Meeting Minutes of February 12, 2014; and Special and Regular Meeting
Minutes of February 18, 2014.
Recommended Action: Approve
b. Contract extension with B &P Painting, Inc. for Painting and Wood Refinishin
Services at various Citv facilities in an amount not to exceed $43.720.
Recommended Action: Approve
It was moved by Council Member Amundson, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Wuo, and carried on roll
call vote to approve Consent Calendar Items 1.a and 1.b.

2. CITY MANAGER ITEMS
a. Allocate $38,000 from the Park and Recreation Facilities Fund for furnishings
fixtures, and equipment for the Museum Education Center.
Recommended Action: Approve
Director of Library & Museum Services Hayes presented the staff report.
It was moved by Council Member Kovacic, seconded by Council Member Harbicht, and carried on
roll call vote to authorize and direct the City Manager to allocate $38,000 from the Park and
Recreation Facilities Fund for furnishings, fixtures, and equipment for the Museum Education
Center.
AYES: Council Member Kovacic, Harbicht, Amundson, Wuo, and Segal
NOES: None
