remain in effect.
It is recommended that the City Council approve a one year extension to the purchase
order with Daniels Tire Service for the purchase of tires and tire related services for City

DISCUSSION
The Public Works Services Department's Fleet Section is responsible for purchasing
and maintaining tires and accessories for all City vehicles. In order to prevent an
interruption in daily operations, the Public Works Services Department maintains a
contract with a vendor who provides tires and tire related services on an as- needed
basis. Tire related services would include the things such as the replacement of a flat
tire on a fire engine or heavy duty equipment. They also carry specific tire sizes and
brands that the City uses. The City expends approximately $60,000 annually for new
tires and tire related services.
