SUBJECT: Ordinance No. 2019 - Admissions rate (City Attorney
Agenda Item #4)
The attached ordinance updates the Admissions tax rate structure
for the proposed Outdoor Entertainment ' Events pursuant to the
City's recently enacted Pilot Program Permit ordinance, and related
zoning text amendment.
Per recommendation of the Acting City Manager the proposed rate is
fifty(50) cents per paid admission, with an increase to seventy
five (75) cents after six months. In view of the Pilot Program
character of outdoor entertainment events at Santa Anita, these
rates should not preclude production while affording the City an
opportunity to fully study the years activities including the
financial factors.
It should be noted that the newly adopted Permit Ordinance requires
fees and deposits to cover the City's cost of noise control and
monitoring. In this regard, an initial deposit of $20, 000 has been
received by the City.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Take the required steps to enact ordinance No. 2019 by introduction
on July 19 and adoption at the next Council meeting.
