HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 1b - League of California Cities Annual Conference DATE: September 1, 2015 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Dominic Lazzaretto, City Manager By: Mary Buttice, Executive Assistant SUBJECT: APPOINT COUNCIL MEMBER TAY AS VOTING DELEGATE, AND CITY MANAGER LAZZARETTO AS THE ALTERNATE FOR THE 2015 LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE Recommendation: Approve SUMMARY The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for September 30 – October 2, 2015, in San Jose, California. An important part of the Conference is the annual business meeting that will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2. At this meeting, the League membership, through designated voting delegates, considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy. In order to vote on behalf of the City of Arcadia at the annual business meeting, the City Council must select, by official action, a Voting Delegate and up to two Alternate Voting Delegates, and provide evidence of such action to the League by Friday, September 18, 2015. The Delegate and Alternate Delegate(s) must be registered to attend the conference (either in its entirety or just Friday), and must register at the Voting Delegate Desk prior to the business meeting. City Council Member Sho Tay is scheduled to attend the League Conference and is able to serve as the City’s Voting Delegate. City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto is also scheduled to attend the conference and is willing to serve as the City’s Alternate. Once the Voting Delegate and Voting alternate has been approved, staff will forward the required information to the League. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact related to this item. Appoint Voting Delegates for the 2015 League of California Cities Annual Conference September 1, 2015 Page 2 of 2 RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council appoint Council Member Sho Tay as the Voting Delegate, and City Manager Lazzaretto as the Alternate for the 2015 California Cities Annual Conference.
