CREATION AND POWERS OF THE AUTHORITY:
SB 1847 sponsored by State Senator (now Congressman) Adam Schiff effective January 1,
1999
Scope included current Metro Gold Line from Union Station to East Pasadena, and any
fixed guide way to Claremont (now Montclair)
SB 1847 also provides the necessary powers to complete the project:
the ability to acquire right -of -way
• issue debt
enter into joint development agreements
• relocate utilities
• accept grants, fees and allocations from all funding sources
• enter into design build contracts

About the Artist
Michael Davis is an accomplished
artist based in Southern California
with an extensive resume of public
art projects across the United States.
His past experience includes working
on the MTA Vermont /Sunset Station,
West San Fernando Valley
Courthouse, and Washington State
Arts Commission.
Mr. Davis graduated from Cal State
Fullerton and is the recipient of
numerous awards such as the Hand
Hollow Foundation Fellowship, an AIA
in public art, and two National
Endowment Fellowships.
