San Gabriel Valley experienced decades of water
quality and water supply issues
December 8, 1959 - formed by voters in the San
Gabriel
January 7, 1960 — incorporated- 50 year anniversary
March 12, 1963 - residents of the District voted to
annex to MWD to obtain imported from the Colorado
River and the State Water Project
1973 — involved in water - quality monitoring program
Present — expanding role in recycled water programs

Moved to 2012 Ballot to improve chances for success
Bond passage would have provided local benefits to
the San Gabriel Valley for groundwater clean up and
recycled water programs
$100 million for groundwater clean up
$50 million for recycled water projects (G.R.I.P)
$1 billion for recycled water projects statewide
