DISCUSSION Given the likelihood that City Council Members, staff, residents, and/or business owners may take advantage of the holiday weekend, staff is recommending that the July 4, City Council meeting be cancelled. There are currently no time-sensitive items that have been scheduled for the July 4, meeting. However, if the City Council cancels the meeting, staff will plan ahead, ensuring there are no delays in a time-sensitive item that would otherwise be addressed at that meeting. Should a necessity arise, a special meeting could be conducted to expedite any item which might require immediate City Council action. FISCAL IMPACT There will be very minor savings in printing costs and staff overtime by not conducting this meeting. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve the cancellation of the July 4, 2017, regular City Council meeting; and direct the City Clerk’s office to post the required notices.
