HomeMy WebLinkAbout7189 RESOLUTION NO. 7189 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE GRANT OF AN EASEMENT TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES ON CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 33 WEST HUNTINGTON DRIVE FOR THE MORLAN PLACE UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT WHEREAS, on December 15, 2015 the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted Resolution No. 7103 forming the Morlan Place Underground Utility District between Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive (District); and WHEREAS, the District will benefit all property owners abutting Morlan Place; and WHEREAS, the City worked with the Southern California Edison Company, AT&T, Time Warner Spectrum, and Giggle Fiber to develop plans for the undergrounding of all overhead utilities on Morlan Place within the District; and WHEREAS, in order to underground the service distribution lines, an easement must be granted to Southern California Edison Company for public utility purposes on a portion of the Self-Storage Building Property owned by the City, located at 33 West Huntington Drive; and WHEREAS, the Southern California Edison Company has prepared the easement document with a legal description and plat map, more particularly described in Exhibit"A", and hereby requests the City to execute the document. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City of Arcadia hereby grants to Southern California Edison Company an easement for underground utilities and related structures over and under the Self Storage Building property owned by the City, more particularly described in Exhibit"A". 1 SECTION 2. The City Manager shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to the signing of the Easement Document, and the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution and the Easement Document thereof to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
