Description (Describe resource and its major ele� Include design, materials, cordbon, allerations, see, selling, and bou xbries) Excellent example of the Prairie Box, a subtype of the Prairie style. Low pitched, hipped roof with composition shingles. The unit is two stories with a second story full length balcony that acts as a full length open porch verandah. Balcony and porch support wrap around the corner to the eastern eave side. Eaves, cornices, and facade detailing emphasize horizontal lines. The porch opening is flat with round corners, supported by massive square posts. Cornice -lined brackets indicate Italian Renaissance detailing. The walls are stuccoed, although this may not be the original wall surface material. The double hung windows as well as the trim around the doors are wooden. There is a decorative stained glass window on the eastern wall. Eave side chimney on western wall. The entrance door is flanked by two stained glass, full length side panes. Vents on the ground level indicate the existence of a basement. Large area of front landscaping. In the rear, there is a two story, two car garage in poor condition. There is a door on the exterior of the second story, but the access stairs have been removed. The unit has a flat roof, and an extended cornice wraps around the perimeter. Architectural features of this style are the double side and double front -facing gables, both with low-pitched roofs and half-timbered detailing. Other features include the small open porch supported by one battered column and the exposed rafters. A Neocolonial style building with a square plan. The roof is hipped. The wide overhanging eaves and the detailed cornice suggest French influence. The roof is composition tile and the wall cladding is stucco. The low pitched roof and the long facade are both significant features. The front porch is supported by long white square columns, a neocolonial feature. The front doors are tall white double doors surrounded by glass panels. The windows are aluminum casement windows. On the east wall there is a sliding glass door that meets the comer. Around the east side and front of the property, facing White Oak Road, is a cinder block wall. The house is side gabled and has long facade. Other features include the wood panel wall cladding combined with brick which creates horizontal lines along the facade. The slightly overhanging eaves are unexposed. The trellis that extends outward from the facade is supported by the main house facade and wooden columns connected by wood post. The trellis creates a front garden within the boundaries of the porch. The house is divided by a car port that is covered by the main roof and creates a second wing that is separate from the main structure. This particular structure is cross gabled in an L-shaped plan and has a massive brick interior chimney. The roof is composition shingle and the wall cladding is a combination of brick and vertical wood panels. The front gable has a second smaller gable underneath that frames four vertically divided panes. Below the main gable and above the second gable is a decorated roof vent. The windows on the far west side are two sash divided into eight panels on each one. These windows are topped with a shingle shed roof. The front door has a lower wood panel with an X design and a glass panel above. To the right of the door is a large single sash window with 18 panes. The facade is lined with ribbon windows that are divided by full -height steel bars. The facade wall and the ribbon windows (without the glass panes) extend to create a hallway with the recessed living area. These walls connect with an attached carport on the north end of the property. The recessed wall is inserted with sliding glass door. The entrance door is flush to the wall, without any decoration, and is flanked on each side by full -height window panes. There is an extension of the unit on the south end, where narrow window panes are covered with horizontal bars. The wall on this area is covered in vertical wood siding. On the south -facing eave wall, there is a portico with a rectangular opening shape for a side entrance. There is a courtyard in the rear that is covered with a trellis, which extends from the roof.
