Arcadia,CA 91006 Pursuant to your request,we have reviewed the roof framing of the structure at the above address for structural
adequacy for accommodating the proposed new roofing material. The house is conventionally framed. The
existing roof is comprised of:

Number of Stories= Single
Building Area = 2,708 S.F.
Year Built = 1951

Conclusion!
Calculations show that existing roof members are adequate to support the desired new Eagle concrete tile, it
is therefore;our opinion that re-roofing with concrete tile will not compromise the structural integrity of the
roof system at the named project address.
The determination of the roof's structural integrity is based on visual observation and known mechanical
properties of wood. After re-roofing,a small amount of deflection in the rafters may be observed. This
condition is cosmetic only and should not affect the structural integrity of the roof framing.
Based on our review of the structure we believe that the structure has adequate amount of braced walls,
sufficient to resist lateral loads. It is our opinion that the structure is adequate to sustain the new seismic loads
generated due to the proposed concrete tile.
Instructions to Roofer:
1.Remove and Replace any damaged roof sheathing prior to installation of new felt paper.
2.Provide S122,or equivalent,metal straps over ridge @24"O.C.,attach per detail Sheet SD-1.
3.Double-up 2x4 roof rafters where clear spans exceed 8 feet, attach per detail sheet SD-2.
