property is proposing to expand the first and second floor of an existing two-story residence that is
subject to the City’s Single Family Architectural Design Review process. You have the opportunity to
comment on the project prior to the City making a decision on the project described below:
A. Categorical Exemption per Section 15301(e)(1) from the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) as an addition to an existing structure; and
B. Single-Family Design Review No. SFADR No. 17-37
Project Description: The Applicant is proposing an addition of 666 square foot to the first floor and
437 square feet to the second floor of an existing two-story house with façade improvements. The
new total square footage will be 2,945 square feet.
Lot Size: 10,620 square feet
Existing Building Size (excluding the garage): 1,882 square feet
New Building Size (excluding the garage): 2,945 square feet
Floor Area Ratio Proposed: 2,945 square feet (28%)
Floor Area Ratio Allowed: 4,748 square feet (44.7%)
Comment Period: January 24, 2018 to February 7, 2018 at 5:30 PM

this process, no formal hearing is required. A notice of decision will be mailed to those residents and property owners who submit written comments on this project or request in
writing to be notified of the decision. An appeal of this administrative decision may be filed within ten (10) days following the date of the decision with the required application
and appeal fee. You may also visit the City’s website at www.ArcadiaCA.gov/noticesanddecisions to view this notice, the architectural plans related to this project, and the
approval/denial letter. City Hall will be closed on Friday, February 2, 2018.
