proposing to remove a protected healthy mature London Plane tree to accommodate a single-story addi-
tion and remodel the existing residence. You have the opportunity to comment on the project prior to the
City making a decision on the project described below:
A. Categorical Exemption per Section 15301 from the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) for a small addition of a single-family dwelling.
B. Healthy Tree Removal Permit No. TRH No. 17-02 and Single-Family Design Review No. SSADR
No. 17-01
Project Description: The applicant proposes to remove a healthy, 19-inch diameter London Plane
tree in order to accommodate a 448 square foot, one-story addition to the front of an existing 2,045
square-foot, one-story Cap Cod style house.
Lot Size: 7,847 square feet
Existing Building Size (excluding the garage): 2,045 square feet
New Building Size (excluding the garage): 5,088 square feet
Floor Area Ratio Proposed: 2,533 sf or 0.32
Floor Area Ratio Allowed: 3,766 sf, 0.49
Comment Period: March 24, 2017 to April 3, 2017 at 5:30 PM
Persons wishing to comment on the project and/or environmental documents may do so by submitting written statements to Planning Services prior to April 3, 2017. Under this
process, no formal hearing is required. A notice of decision will be mailed to those residents and property owners who submit written comments on this project or request in
writing to be notified of the decision. An appeal of this administrative decision may be filed within ten (10) days following the date of the decision with the required application
and appeal fee. You may also visit the City’s website at www.ArcadiaCA.gov/noticesanddecisions to view this notice, the architectural plans related to this project, and the
approval/denial letter. City Hall will be closed on March 31, 2017..
