SUBJECT: DONATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 FROM SIERRA FAMILY OF
DEALERSHIPS, $1,000 FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT, AND $1,000
FROM LONGO TOYOTA-LEXUS TO THE RECREATION AND
COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO SPONSOR THE
CONCERTS AND MOVIES IN THE PARK PROGRAM
Recommendation: Accept
SUMMARY
This summer, Sierra Family of Dealerships, Waste Management, and Longo Toyota-
Lexus expressed interest in sponsoring the summer Concerts and Movies in the Park
program. The combined donation of $4,000 would go towards offsetting the City’s
General Fund for the summer Concerts and Movies in the Park program. It is
recommended that the City Council accept the donation s.
DISCUSSION
The City Charter requires all donations greater than $1,000 to be approved by the City
Council. The City of Arcadia has offered a seven week Concerts and Movies in the Park
program. In order to offset City costs for the program, the Department offered
sponsorship opportunities to outside organizations. Below are the offered donations:
Sierra Family of Dealerships $2,000
Waste Management $1,000
Longo Toyota-Lexus $1,000

ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
The proposed action does not constitute a project under the California Environmental
Quality Act (“CEQA”), and it can be seen with certainty that it will have no impact on the
environment. Thus, this matter is exempt under CEQA.
FISCAL IMPACT
The $4,000 will be utilized to offset the costs associated with the live band, audio
contractor, movie license, and movie equipment. This will reduce costs that were
anticipated to be covered by the City’s General Fund.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the City Council accept donations in the amount of $2,000 from
Sierra Family of Dealerships, $1,000 from Waste Management, and $1,000 from Longo
Toyota-Lexus to the Recreation and Community Services Department to sponsor the
Concerts and Movies in the Park program.
