Trash bin John Zurick From: Ken Fields Sent: Monday, February 11, 2019 11:58 AM To: John Zurick Subject: Santa Anita Platforms John, I spoke with the Architect for the Santa Anita project.This issue is something that was discussed with Don back when the plans were submitted,and Don met with the applicant at that time and also discussed this with VCA. Don decided that he was comfortable with the ramp being marked as non-accessible being it was for employees only.Additionally,the ramp as you noted does not meet section 1012.6.4 for a change of direction,and I discussed that with the Architect as well.The door to the ramp is marked on the plan as not an exit and therefore per 1021.1 it is not a component of a means of egress and 1012.6.4 would not apply to this ramp. In conclusion, I notified the Architect and the race track that I plan to move forward with the plans as originally approved. Especially given this was a conscious decision made by the previous Building Official and was not simply just an oversight.
