Per our building inspection today, any walls where drywall was removed and R11 insulation was exposed,the R11 should be replaced with R15 insulation unless our architect believes leaving R11 in place is acceptable. If R11 is acceptable and approval is given, our inspector is satisfied with leaving R11 in place. Existing insulation in walls that have drywall still intact, does not need to be changed. See attached for photos and locations of walls in question. Pankow believes that leaving R11 intact is the most time effective and cost effective solution.
