DATE: June 16, 2020
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Dominic Lazzaretto, City Manager
By: Linda Rodriguez, Assistant City Clerk
SUBJECT: CANCELLATION OF THE JULY 7, 2020, REGULAR CITY COUNCIL
MEETING
Recommendation: Approve
SUMMARY
Due to the lack of agenda items for the City Council meeting of July 7, 2020, as well as
the timing of the Fourth of July holiday week, it is recommended that the regular
meeting of that date be cancelled.
DISCUSSION
Given the likelihood that City Council Members, staff, residents and business owners
may take advantage of the holiday weekend, it is recommended that the July 7, 2020,
City Council meeting be cancelled. There are currently no time-sensitive items that
have been scheduled for the July 7 meeting. If the City Council cancels the meeting,
staff will plan ahead, ensuring there are no delays in a time-sensitive item that would
otherwise be addressed at that meeting. Should a necessity arise, a special meeting
could be conducted to expedite any item which might require immediate City Council
action.
ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
The proposed action does not constitute a project under the California Environmental
Quality Act (“CEQA”), and it can be seen with certainty that it will have no impact on the
environment. Thus, this matter is exempt under CEQA.
FISCAL IMPACT
There will be minor savings in printing costs and staff overtime by not conducting this
meeting.
