Huntington Drive, with Cbainnan Jobn Sleeter. presiding. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: ABSENT: Commissioners BeU, Huang, Murpby,Sleeter Commissioners Bruckner and K.alemkiarian MOTION It was moved by Commissioner Murpby, seconded by Commissioner Bell to excuse Commissioners Bruckner and Kalemkiarian from tonight's meeting. The motion passed by voice vote with no one dissenting. Silva Vergel 1. MINUTES of.11t4/97 Commissioner Murpby noted that the vote on page 5 of.the Minutes regarding MP97-COl is incorrect because both be and Commissioner Bruckner were present. Cbainnan Sleeter stated that on page I of the Minutes, the sentenCe "the motion passed by voice vote with none dissenting" under the "Minutes" sbould be deleted because of the vote. MOTION It was moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Commissioner Huang to approve the Minutes ofJanuary 14, 1997 as amended. CONTINbED PUBLIC HEARING TM 52291 408 S. Santa AnIta Raymond G. RaJI\uz, Trustee Consideration. of a tentative map to convert/subdivide an existing 16Cunit residential apartment into a 16-unil residential condominium project. The staff report was presented and the public hearing was opened. Dean Phillips, 1930 S..Brea Canyon, #130, Diamond Bar, was in agreement with all of the conditions in the staff report. MOTION It was moved by Commissioner Bell, seconded by Commissioner.Huang to close the public hearing. The motion passed by voice vote with none dissenting. Commissioner Mwphy thought itlooked good. MOTION It was moved by Commissioner Mwphy, seconded by Commissioner Bell to approve TM 52291 subject to the conditions in the staff report. Holly Ave. Ming Chao Consideration of a tentative map for as-unit residential condominium project The. staff report was presented. In response to a question by the Commission; .staff indicated that the plans and the architectura1 design review were approved by the Commission and the lack of landscaping was part of the approval. The public hearing was opened. Hersel Zahab, 2973 E. Coronado, Anaheim, said they are in agreement with all of the conditions in the staff report. He asked about item #19 on the Engineering report. Staff responded that the conditions listed from other departments would be subject to the review and approVal of the department. No one else spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. The motion passed by voice vote with none dissenting. CommisSioner Huang felt they made a good effort to save the existing trees. MOTION It was moved by Commissioner Bell, seconded by Commissioner Mwphy to approve 1M 52253 subject to the conditions in the staff report. ROLL CALL: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Commissioners Bell, Huang, Mwphy, Sleeter None Commissioners Bruckner and Kalemkiarian 4. PUBLIC HEARING TA 97-001 Consideratio!l of a text amendment amending the Arcadia Municipal Code relating to wall and fence height and establishing architectuial design guidelines for walls, wrought iron fences, decorative columns and lighting located within the front yard area. The staff report was presented. Commissioner Huang that "depressed [1JItlP" should be betten:larlfled. Commissioner Mwphy thought that the paragraph on page 1 was difficult for him to interpret. Chainnan Sleeter agreed and suggested using sub-bullets. Mr. Nicholson stated thatthey did not want the wording to. be too teclinicatbecause the Building Code covers it. Discussion ensued amongst the Commission on the wording regarding the wording and Mr. Nicholson stated that the wording on the subsection could be expanded. Also, after the paragraph, a new section could be added, I.e.; 9283,9.1, fences/walls/gates and remove the ':Exception". The public hearing was opened. Noone else spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. MOTION It was moved by Commissioner Bell, seconded by Commissioner Huang to close the public hearing. The motion passed by voice vote with none dissenting. MOTION It.was moved by CommiSsioner Mwphy, seconded. by Commissioner Bell to recommend approval of T A .97-00 I to the City COWlcil with items pertaining to safey protection listed as a separate code section.
