HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/17/2021 - Special Meeting ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES TUESDAY, "AUGUST 17, 2021 CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Tay called the Study Session to order at 5:00 p.m. ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Beck, Chandler, Verlato, Cheng, and Tay ABSENT: None PUBLIC COMMENTS — No public comments were received. STUDY SESSION a. Report, discussion, and direction concerning potential zone change and mixed- use proiect at 233 East Huntington Drive and 301 East Huntington Drive. Dustin Nicolarsen, owner of The Derby, presented a PowerPoint Presentation. After discussion, it was the consensus of the City Council to further consider the proposed potential zone change and mixed-use project at 233 East Huntington Drive and 301 East Huntington Drive. The project will be brought back at a future City Council Meeting for all required approvals, including land use approvals, potential general plan amendments, and potential zone change amendments. The Study Session ended at 5:48 p.m. and the Council convened in Closed Session. CLOSED SESSION a. Conference with Real Property Negotiators (Government Code section 54956.8) Property: 620 East Live Oak Avenue (APN: 8571-011-904, 8571-012-907, 8571-012-908) Agency negotiators: Dominic Lazzaretto, City Manager; Jason Kruckeberg, Assistant City Manager/Development Services Director; Stephen Deitsch, City Attorney Negotiating parties: San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity and KB Home BRIDGE Housing, Brookfield, WHA, and Kimley Horn The Olson Company, The New Home Company, and Linc Housing Borstein Enterprises Greystar City Ventures Holdings, LLC and Anton DevCo Inc. Brandywine and National Community Renaissance (National CORE) Eden Housing and Seven West Capital Under negotiation: Price and Terms b. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(4) to confer with legal counsel regarding potential litigation —one (1) case The City Council recessed to the Regular City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m. and announced it will reconvene at the conclusion of the matters listed on the Regular City Council Meeting agenda. The City Council reconvened the Closed Session at 10:27 p.m. c. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6 to confer with labor negotiators. City Negotiators: City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto, Assistant City Manager/Development Services Director Jason Kruckeberg, and Administrative Services Director Hue Quach. Employee Organizations: Arcadia Public Works Employees Association, Arcadia City Employees Association, Arcadia Police Civilian Employees Association, Arcadia Police Officers' Association, Arcadia Firefighters' Association, and unrepresented employees: Department Heads, Division Managers, Supervisors, and part-time employees.
