and a 1,438 sq, ft. second-story addition to the existing 2,339 sq. ft., single-story residence.
The staft'report was presented and the public hearing was opened.
Marv Bradshaw, 475 Stanford Dr., Said wOtlld like to improve the home and would like to go through
the proper channels. They enjoy the quality of the area and would like to maintain the same roof

Dale Brown, 16 N. Morengo, Pasadena, the architect, said the addition will be harmonious with the area
and they went beyond the requirements of the radius map and showed the plans to the neighbors for their

The entry is understated.

MATTERS FROM PLANNING COMMISSION
Possible topics of discussion at joint study session with City Council.
Chairman Baderian said that Ms. Butler distributed a list of suggested topics. He thought that they
should agree upon 3-4 topics that they could discuss at the meeting.
Ms. Butler read Commissioner Hsu's suggestions and noted that some of the issues raised by
Commissioner Hsu are currently being addressed by staff and' are in the works. She noted that if
someone meets all zoning requirements, it is difficult to deny a subdivision.
COmmissioner Olson said that he would like to discuss the items that come before the Modification
Committee, because there seems to be a redundancy. He thought they should be looking at the lot and
its attributes instead of enforcing a rule that should be applied to every property.
Commissioner Lucas felt they should think of as many items as possible to discuss with City Council
instead of narrowing it down to just a few and then allow them to choose which items to discuss and
Commissioner Olson agreed.
Ms. Butler indicated that the first and second items (the fencing and parking requirements) on her list
will probably be addressed before the proposed study session, therefore, those could be taken off the list.
She also noted that their meeting should be scheduled after the election.
Chairman Baderian felt that they should keep this item on the agenda, until the study session, so if they
decide to talk about any issues or add to the list they can.
Commissioner Olson felt they should meet before the study session and have a consensus on how they
feel about certain issues and be prepared to make recommendations. Chairman Baderian concurred.
It-was suggested that-any topics for discussion. should be e-mailed toMs, Butler,
Chairman Baderian realized how difficult it would be to find adequate time to discuss the issues but felt
that they should have as much time as possible set aside for their study session.
Commissioner Olson remaiked thatthe Planning Commission is the next important commission after the
City Council and wanted to make sure that they would have enough time to discuss the issues with City
Council.
Chairman Baderian remarked that there is a fifth Tuesday in June, which could be a good day for the
study session.
