Motion by Mr. YOUJl8 seconded by Yr. Strawn and carried that the minutes
of the meeting of Kay 20th be approved as wri tt6.o. and. maUed.
Pursuant to notioe given, a pUblio heat"lng was held on the APplioation
of the Church of Christ for a zone variance to allcw the ereotion and use of
a clIa.rch on the west sitte of Ji!1rst Avenue south of Duarte Road. :Protest
petition from surrouncUng prollerty owners was read. The ohurch was represent-
ed by Rev. O. R. i'alJJnan 81:Id AttorMY L. V. Cady. Mr. lCraolr81. spcke for the
petition. Mr. Aga.e and lfrs. Bassett spoke against the varianoe. Motion bY'
JIr. Pippin, seconded by 1lr. You.ng and oarried that the heat"1ng be closed,
and that a deoislon be rendered on June 17th without further debate.
