presiding.

ABSElfT: lfr. Diokinson, Moriarty, Su1l1van and Watson.
Hotion by Jir. Young, seconded by Mr. Strawn and carried that the

and use of the proposed building, p agreed. to suggested restr1ctions which
mi8h"f; be inoorporated 1n the reoommendation. Hrl[l. C. :M. Haeske. 242 W. Duarte
Road, objeoted to 8l'I,Y buildings over two stories. 1Iotion by 1Ir. Strawn that
the petition be reoommended far approval, subjeot to the followiIlg oonditions:
1. That the entire Huntington Drive frontage on the first floor level and to
a reaeonable depth. be devoted to retail busi,ness as provided. in Zone 0-2.
2. That the buildins be oonstruoted. s1milar to the photograph whioh was f1.1ed
w1th the pet1tion.
3. That all loading and unloading be oarried on only from the rear of the
build1ng. .

Plaoe, west of El Ko,nte Avenue. The Seoretary was instruoted to tinform her
that the Commission would not 10 ok with favor on suoh a petition.

Mr. Youns submitted a written report B11d reoommendation from tbe sidewalk
oommlttee. A telephone call from Ja:Los. Paul MUD8e%' stated that the report and
reoommellil.ation had been QPproved bl the Sa1'etl Oouncil. Motion by JI'r. strawn,
seoollil.ed b1 Mr. Pippin aDd carried that the CommIssion aooept and approve the
rso ommellil.ati on , and reoommsllil. that the Citl Coune11 imoorporate the same in
an appropriate ordinance.

Mr. strawn ex:plained that he thOtl8ht the ohuroh would canst! tute a bu1'ter
between the 0-1 Zone to the North and the R-l Zone to the South. Mr. Pike
expressed approval at the plan which shoWs suffioient off-etreet parkins, and
room fOr expansion 01' the ohuroh. Mr. Pip:pin brOtl8ht out the taot that
churohes are allowed only by varianoe, and that he oonsidered this a 60ed.
