R. M. W. Shaw was appointed to fill the uneX]?ired term of Mr. Strawn,
and C. R. Muton to :fill the uneX]?ired term of Mr. MoriS'll;fiy, both appoint-
ments effeotive July 20, 1948.
Motion by Mr. Pippin, seoonded by Mr. Shaw and oarried that the
minutes of the meeting of July 15th be approved as written and mailed.

The matter of the request of lle.ry Sou.za Wedge for a zone ve.rianoe
on Foothill Boulevard waS referred baok to the Oommission for further
oonsideration. Oommunication from the applicant requested that aotion
on her petition be deferred, and oonsidered in the new zoning ordUlance.
Motion by Mr. Diokinson, seconded by Mr. SUllivan a.nd oarried that the
request be granted. Mr. Hoeppel addressed the Commission, and was
assured that before ally further aotion was taken, the surround1J:lg
property owners would be not1fied.
An additional petition was filed, requesting that Genoa Street
near Fifth Avenue be plaoed in Zone R-3. Th1s was ordered held for
study in the new ordinanoe.
Petition from property owners requested that Foothill Boulevard
between Seoond Avenue and Borth View Avenue be plaoed in a business
zone. This request was ordered held for study in the new zoning
ordinanoe.
Final maps of Traots No. 13544 and 14666, looated in Santa Anita
Oaks north of Footh1l1 Bou.levard, aDd previOl1sly approved MaY' 1, 1947,
were submitted for re-approval. Motion by Mr. Pippin, sedonded bY'
Mr. Shaw and oarried that final approval be reoommended.
Oommunication boom the Planning OOlll1llission of San !nis ObiSpO
OoantY' recolll1llended the adoption of a resolution urging the oreation of
a Board of Appeals to review right of way decisions of the Oalifornia
Division of Highways. Motion by Yr. shaw, seoonded by Mr. Diokinson
and oarried that the matter be referred to the League of California
Cities for study.
Motion by Mr. Sullivan, seooDded bY' Mr. Shaw and O81'ried that the
meeting adj ourn.
