The City Planning Commission met in re~lar meeting with Ohairman Pike
presiding.
PRESENT: llr. Anderson, Ingstad, Pike, Shaw, Sullivan, Cornyn, Klomp and Talley.
ABSENT: Mr. Minton, Pippin and Watson.
Motion by Mr. Shaw, seoonded by Mr. Ingstad and oarried that the minutes
of the meetings of September 2nd and 16th be approved as written and mailed.

of Anna 14. Rex1nger and Ingegerd Isakson for a ohange of zone, and a zone
varianoe to allow automobile parking, on oertain property looated south of
Da.arte Road between Santa bits Avenue and First Avenue. Mr. Marks spoke
brief17 on 'their plan for the development of the area. Mr. MaoKinnon asked
oertain information, but had no objeotiona. Bo protests were registered.
Motion by JUo. Shaw, seoonded b111r. Ingstad and oarried that the request be
reoommended for approval.
Oommu.n1oation from Mr. W. K. Watson requested permission to build on a
lot having Q frontage of 49.9 feet looated at 423 Ca11fornia Street. Motion
by Mr. Shaw, seoonded by Mr. Anderson and oarried that the request be reo-
ommended for approval.
.; Tentative map of Traot Bo. 15567, being the third unit of the Elkin's
subdivision on B. Santa Anita Avenue, was presented for approval. Written
report of the Oity Engineer was read. oalling attention to the Metropolitan
Water Distriot easement along the north side of the traot; also the mountain
drainage from the north. Motion by Mr. Shaw. seoonded by Mr. SUllivan and
oarried that tentative approval be reoommended, exoludi%lg lots 67 to 76,
inolusive. whioh area shall be held for further study.
Oommu.n1oation from BOller. SUttner & Boller requesting R-3 zoni%lg for
Earl O. Warren on property between Seoond Avenue and Third Avenue and north
of California street. was held for study in the new zoning ordinanoe.
Letter from the Chamber of Commerce advised of a meeting on Ootober 20th
to disouss the extension of Baldwin AveJIU.e. The Chairman urged that all
members Who oould attend should do so.
Letter from Ernest R. Geddes. Assemblyman, advised of a meeti%lg in Los
Angeles on Ootober 12th and 13th to disou.ss freeway problems. The Chairman
stated that he would try to attend.

Letter from the Southern California Planning Congress advised of a meet-
i%lg in Alham1)ra on October 14th, and also urged this Commission to beoome
members of the Oongress. Motion by Mr. Shaw. seoonded by JIr. Ingstad and
oarried that this Commission reoommend to the Oity Counoil that a membership
in the Oongress be taken.
It was agreed to meet on Friday, Ootober 22nd, at 7:00 P. M. for study
of the redraft of the new zoning ordinanoe.
Motion by Mr. SUllivan, seoonded by Mr. Shaw anll carried that the meet-
