PRESENT: Yr. Anderson, Ingstad, Pike, Sullivan, COrnyn, Klomp and Talley. ABSENT: Mr. IUnton, Pippin, Shaw and Watson. Motion by Mr. Ingstad, seconded by Mr. Anderson and oarried that the minutes of the meeting of January 6th be approved as written and read. The Committee appointe4 to investigate the request of Osoar H. Lide for permission to divide and sell Blot 50 feet by 173.56 feet at Walnnt J'l. Avenue and Holly Avenne re'ported that the proposed lot would have more than the required minimum area; is looated on a OOrner whioh would provide ample light and air; and would be a definite improvement to the neighborhood. Motion by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mr. Ingstad and carried that the request be reoommended tor a'pproval. Communioation from Walter W. Fischer requested permission to divide lot 18, Traot 12718, located on Norman Avenue east 01' El Monte Avenne, and in Zone R-l-A. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Ingstad w~re appointed as a committee to investigate and report back at the next meeting. Petition of Paul L. Soott and Celia M. Soott, owners,and Development Engineers Incorporated, lessee, requested a 20nevariance to allow the operation ot a building oontraotor's yard, fOr the oalendar year 1949, on a portion ot lot 34, F. A. Geier Traot, looated on May.flower Avenue. Mr. Wright and Mr. Fish spoke for the lessee, Mrs. Belle L. Graoe protested the granting of the variance, on the ground that it would damage her pz property located adjacent. Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Shaw were appointed as B oommittee to investigate the site and report baok at the next meeting. Communioation from E. J. Edwar4s requested that no property be removed from Zone R-2 for the purpose of prohibiting ohurohes. The Sommunioation was ordered filed. Communioation from James R. Hill, 2433 Treelane Avenue, Monrovia, representing the Camino Real Distriot Improvement Assooiation, oomposed of several traots adJaoent to or near the southeast boundary of Aroadia, requested permission to appear and diecuss the possibility of anneXing the territory to Aroadia. Motion by Mr. Sullivan, seoonded by Mr. Ingstad and oarried that Mr. Hill be invited to appear at the next, or any other meeting of this Commission, Communioation from Mrs. Hortense D. Seymour, publioity ohairman of the Chsmber of Commeroe, made oertain suggestions relative to a beautifioation program for the City. Motion by Mr. Ingstad, seconded by Mr. Sullivan and Oarried that the matter be taken under advisement until the plans of the City regarding the expansion of the street Department have been oompleted, at whioh time the matter will be given further study and a report made to the City Counoi1. Communioation from the City Clerk oonveyed the thanks and appreoiation Of the City Council for the work done by this Commission in the preparation of the new Zoning Ordinanoe.
