The City Planning Commission met in regular meeting with Chairman
Anderson presiding.
PRESENT: Mr. Anderson, Knutson, Robertson, Weickert, Cornyn, Klomp
and Talley.
ABSENT: 151'. 3mi th
The minutes of the meeting of April 6 were ordered approved as written
and mailed.
The matter of rezoning Naomi Avenue between Baldwin Avenue and Lovell
Avenue was again coneidered. Several property owners spoke in favor or
against said proposal.
Motion by 1~. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Knutson and unanimously carried
by roll call vote that in view of the difference of opinion of the interested
property owners that the mgtter be held for further study.
The applioation of the Aroadia Sporting Center for a zoning variance
to allow the operation of a childrens amusement center on Huntington Drive
was again considered. ~~. Thody, attorney for the applicant, requested
two weeks delay to give time to fHe proper specifications for the desired
uses. The request for the delay in time was granted.
The request of Walter Lookwood to divide 65 feet off his lot at 44 E.
Longden Avenue was again considered. Mr. Anderson reported that six neighbors
opposed the division and two were in favor.
Motion by Mr. Knutson that application be denied. Said motion was
seconded by ~~. Anderson and carried on Roll Call vote as follows:
AYES: Mr. Anderson, Knutsen and Weickert
NOES: None
NOT VOTING: Mr. Robertson
, The request of Mrs. J. W. Jacks, 2112 So. Sixth Avenue to divide and
sell a 60-foot lot was again oonsidered.
Motion by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Knutson and unanimously carried
by roll oall vote that if the lot can be divided in half, making a frontage
of 68.72 feet and still have ~-feet clearance from the present house, that
the request be reoommended for approval; otherwise it would be denied.
Application of James H. B. Evinger and E. E. Evinger to divide lots
at the end of Danimere Avenue was considered. Mr. Weickert reported that
in his opinion the land should be kept open for the extension of Dantmere
Avenue easterly.
~ Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. .Knutson and unanimously carried
by roll call vote that parcels 1 and 2 be approved, provided the street is
dedioated for the full frontage of these two lots and that paroels " 4 and
5 be denied, or as an alternative parcel; 3 be approved, provided the street
be extended and dedicated to the east line of parcel 3 and that paroels 1,
2 and 3 each be made 75 feet in width.

Mrs. George W. Kennedy, 222 Huntington Place requested permission to
divide and sell the northerly 190 feet of lot 9. Tract 11969.
Motion by Mr. Knutson, seoonded by Mr. Weickert and unanimously oarried
by roll oall vote that the application be approved.

Mrs. Goldes K. Wyre, 143 E. Longden Avenue requested permission to
divide and sell the west 75 feet of the east 455.92 feet of the south
216.25 feet of lot 47, Arcadia Acreage Tract.
Motion by I~. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Knutson and carried that the
app~ication be granted.
Applioation from P. L. McNutt Oonstruction Oompany and MUtual Savings
and Loan Association requested permission to divide and sell 16 separate
parcels which they plan to develop at 836 W. Huntington Drive. As these
lot sizes are far below standard and the number of lots would require a
subdivision map, motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by llir. Robertson
and carried by roll call vote that the application be denied.

Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. Knutson and carried by Roll
Oall vote that the Tract be denied, and that the subdivider be requested
to bring in a new map which meets city requirements as to lot widths and
area.
Tentative map of Tract 16837, located on Seventh Place was referred
to the Subdivision Committee for study.
Resolution No. 26 recommendin~ for approval the application of Lloyd
E. Jones for a zone variance at 114 St. Joseph Street was presented and
read.
Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by !\lr. Anderson and carried by Roll
Call vote that Resolution be adopted.
J. E. Parker and James O. Vandervoort requested permission to divide Lot
89 and north 47 feet of Lot 90, Tract 12374 into two lots 52.5 feet each.
Motion by l\:r. Robertson, seconded by Mr. VJeickert and carried that the
application be granted.
Motion by u~. Robertson, seconded by llr. Knutson and carried that the
Secretary be authorized to grant permits for lot divisions provided all
requirements are met.
