'Ehe City Planning Commission met in regular meeting with Chairman
Anderson preSiding.
PRESENT: Mr. Anderson, Berky, Knutson, Robertson, Weickert, Cornyn,
Klomp and Talley.
ABSENT: Ur. 8mi tho
Mr. Stephen T. Ba~ky was introduced as a new member of the Commission
appointed to fill the term resigned by 1~. Stoner.
The minutes of the meeting of April 20th were ordered approved as
written and mailed.
Pursuant to notioe Given, a public hearing was held on the
application of property owners to change the zone of Fairview Avenue
west of SunsElt Blvd. from Zone R-l to Zone R-3. Six oroperty owners
spoke in favor of the change. No opposition was registered. The

sell two lots, each 65 feet by 200 feet. Motion by lJr. Weickel't, seconded
by lf~. Anderson and carried by roll call vote that permission be granted.
The matter of extending First Avenue northerly through the pro~ertY'
of !IiI'. lIeubauer to connect w.ith the Elkins Tract was discussed. LIotion by
i.Jr. Robertson, seconded by 4Ir.' Berky and oarried that this extension be
recommended, subject to satisfactory financial arrangements.
The matter of disposing of a 29.12 foot strip of land along l"ifth
Avenue north of Lon~den Avenue was discussed. fuotion by ~r. Knutson,
seconded by 1~. \leickert and carried that the Commission recommend the
selling of the land in one parcel only.
Application of ',l'alter Lockwood, l.tl+ E. Loni,;den Avenue, to divide his
lot was referred back by the City Council. As Mr. Lockwood was not
present, the matter was held until a future meeting.
Application of James H. B.Evinger to divide lots at the east end
of Danimere Avenue was referred back by the City Gouncil. lIIr. Weickert
and ~~. l\nutson agreed to meet with y~. hvin~er to discuss the matter.
Tentative map of Tract No. 16803, located at the north and of Louise
Avenue, was considered. Report and reoommendation from the Regional
Planning Commission was read. Motion by IJr. Weiokert, seconded by W~.
Robertson and carxied by roll call vote that approval be recommended,
subjeot to a two fOot strip at the north end of eaoh street being subjeot
to the future street clause. The Secretary was requested to thank L~.
Adams and 1~. I~lone for their courtesy in reporting on this Tract.

Knutsan, secanded by Mr. Weickert and carried by roll call vote that
this traot be recommended fer approval, subject to. drainage require-
ments satis~actory to. the City Engineer.
Tentative map of Tract No. 168,7, located at the nerth end of
Seventh Avenue and Seventh Plaoe, was considered. Matien by Mr. \/eickert,
seconded by 1;r. lCnutson and carried that the traot be reoommended for
approval, subjeot to a two. toot strip at the north end of ~eventh Avenue
beiuo; suejeot to the future street clause.
Tentative map of Tract No. 16872, located along ~rst Avenue south
of Gamino Real was held two weeks to give the subdivision committee more
time to study the matt er .
Tentative map 01 Tract No. 16867, looated on Sunset Boulevard south
of Lemon Avenu.e, in Ceunty territory, was recemmended fer denial because
it does not meet Arcadia standards.
The matter ef annexing certain territory southwest of Arcadia was
again considered. Mation by ~w. Rebertson, secended by Mr. Knutsen and
oarried that this Commissien B.Bain recemmend the annexation of the
territery, and that the boundaries be fixed as the east side of Sunset
Boulevard and the north side af Lemen Avenue.

feet of lot 16, Tract No. 13252, to be used in cenjunotian with lot

, The Secretary reported that he had approved the divisien of three
lots out of lot 75 Tract no.. 805, at the gartheast corner of Eighth
Avenue and Camino Real, for H. O. Carter, 529 E. Camino. Real.
Joseph F. 'Jrooks, 1501 S. Tenth AVenue, requested permission to
build a new home on the front of a lot now having a house 6 feet from
the side property line. L~. Robert~on reported that in his opinien,
this would be an improvement to the property and neighborhood. !.lotion

recommended.

and recommended to the City Council for adoption:
