The City Planning Commission met in regular meeting with Chairman Anderson presiding. PRES:EJNT: Mr. Anderson, 13erky, Knutson, Ro'Jertson, 'v1eickert, Cornyn, Klomp and Talley. ABSENT I Mr. Soi th The minutes of the meeting of }~y 18th were ordered approved as written and mailed. motion by !Jr. Weicke1'l>. seconded b;y L:r. Berky and carried that the application of ~~s. Clara S. Herkner, eo7 Arcadia Avenue to divide 40 feet off her lot of 140 .feet be approved, inasmuch as the property is located in Zone R-3. and the location of a rear house prohibits a wider dimension.. Motion by lJr. Weiokert, seconded by loW. Berky and carried that the application of Thomas J. White, 440 \{. Lemon Avenue, to. divide his 131.43- foot lot in half be approved,. as most of the lots on this street and block have been so divided. 'Application of Pauline Wind to divide the South 142 feet of lot L~, Tract No. 2731, located at the northwest corner of Sunset Blvd. and Fair- view Avenue, was referred to l-'r. Robertson and tlr. Anderson to investigate. Application of H. K. Hargett, E. J. Gengler and K. J. h~dsen to change the setback on the east side of Holly Avenue between Le Roy and Naomi to 20 feet was referred to lvir. Robertson and j,w. Anderson to investigate. Final map of Tr.act No. 16979, located on the west side of Santa Anita Avenue north of Sierra ;Jadre Blvd., was referred to the subdivision oommittee to investigate. , , , 7th Ave. Ho~es, Inc., requested a 15 foot setback to the building to be erected on lot 32, Tract No. 16420. located on Seventh Avenue. Motion by i.jr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. Knutson and carried, that on account of the irregular shape of the lot. the above request for 15 foot setback be recommended for approval. j \ Communication from Ken Banks, architect, rep~esenting Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Fitoh. requested a change of setback on lot 15, Tract No. 15894. located at the northeast corner of Sierra Madre Blvd. and Claridge Street. After an investigation of the location of all buildings affected, rnot-ion by . Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. lfe1ckert and carried that this Commiseion recommend that the setback on the north side of Sierra 1mdre Blvd. between Sal1ta Anita Avenue and the Westerly City Boundary be changed and established at 60 feet from the center line of Sieri'a J.iadre Blvd. Tentative map of Tract No. 16593, located on the north side of Palm Drive west of Santa Anita Avenue was referred back to the subdfvision committee for further study. Applioation of Lee Briseno to add to and remodel a building to use for a dwellins at 35 Lucille Street, with a 5-foot rear yard was considered. As this buildin6 had originally been moved in to be used for a dwelling, motion was made by 11r. Robertson, seconded by 1;ll'. Berky and carr-ied that the request be approved. . . Notice of a public haaring before the Regional Planning Commission in the matter of changing the zone from Zone R-l to Zone R-3 on the south side of Huntington Drive, west of the Arcadia City Boundary, was ordered filed. Tentative map of Tract No. 16957, located at the southeast oorner of Live Oak Avenue and Baldwin Avenue in County territory, was recommended for denial because it does not meet the Arcadia requirements. Tentative map of Tract Uo. 17002, located west of Baldwin Avenue and north of Olive Street, in County territory, was recommended for denial because it does not meet the Arcadia requirements. Motion by 1~. Robertson, seconded by Tw. ~eickert and oarried that this Commission recommend to the City Council that beoause the property on the west side of Baldwin Avenue north of Huntin[ton Drive is located in Zone R-l the commercial use of such property by the hOlding of auotions should bs prohibited. Resolution i~o. 27 reoOllDllending the denial of the application of the Arcadia Sports Center for a zone variance to allow a ohildren's playground was presented and read. iIlotion by Mr. Robertson that Resolution No. 27 be adopted. ABSENT: Mr. Snli tho Tentative map of Tract No. 16947. located at the north end of Green- field Avenue was agai.n considered. Motion by J;lr. Weickert, seoonded by l'Jr. Knutson and carried that the approval recommend on i.iay 18th be amended by the adding of another oondition, as follows: That the cul-de-sac at the north end of ~he proposed new street be extended to within two ~eet of the north line of' the tract, and that the "F'uture Street" clause apply to the two foot strip. Motion by Mr. Robertson, seconded by 1lr. Weickert and carried that the City Attorney be requested to draw a resolution recommending the chanse of zone from R-l to R-3 on Fairview Avenue west of Sunset Blvd. There being no further business, the meetine adjourned. ^ \ [, -I" ., i:'-'.
