Pursuant te the foregeing adjournment~ the City Planning Cemmission met
in adjeurned regular meeting with Chairman Andersen presiding.

Mr. Newell Was representing the firm of Burke, Marshall and Burk9,
Marshall and Burke, City Atterneys.
The minutes .of the meeting of June 1 were ordered appreved as written
and mailed.
Pursuant te netice given, a public hearing was held on the applicatien
01' Anna M. Roush, requesting a zoning variance at 530 N. First Avenue, te
permit the erectien .of an addition to the present building and the cenduct
.of a phetograph finishing, printing and publishing business. Protest
petition signed by 4 preperty owners was filed by G. W. Gulstein. Mr.
Gulstein alse protested .orally abeut the neise created by the printing
business. No etner pretests were registered. The .Chairman anneunced that
the matter weuldbe taken under advisement and a decisien rendered at a
future meeting.
Applicatien of Pauline Wind to divide a let located at the northwest .
cerner .of Sunset Beulevard and Fairview Avenue, was cansidered. On account
of the lecation .of the existing buildings en the lot, metien was made by Mr.
Robertsen, secended by Mr. Anderson and carried that the applicatien be
granted.
Petition of H. K. Hargett and ethers .owning preperty en the east side
01' Helly Avenue between Lovell Avenue and Nomi Avenue, requesting a change
.of set back te 20 feet from the property line, was considered. In view .of
the irregularities of set backs of preperty en Holly Avenue, motien was made
by Mr. Robertsen, seconded by Mr. Weickert and carried that the petition be
recemmended fer appreval.
I Application .of Geerge J. Welf, 124 E. Lengden Avenue, te divide a lat
inte twe 52-foet lets, was censidered. Because the let en either side .of
the applicant's has already been similarly divided, motien was made by
Mr. Weickert, seCended by Mr. Rebertsen and unanimeusly carried by Roll Call
vote that the application be granted.
Letter frem Themas J. White requested that previeusly granted permissien
to divide a lot be changed to allow the let to be divided?O feet and 51.41
feet instead .of in the center. The matter was referred te r~. Weickert and
Mr. Rebertsen te rpert back at the next meeting.
Letter frOm Mrs. Vern Vegel requested a change in previeusly granted
permission to allow her te divide a lot 59 feet instead .of 50 feet in order
to save three trees. Metien by Aw. Berky, seconded by Mr. Rebertsen and
carried that the request be granted.

Letter frem the Arcadia Chamber .of Commerce adVising that in their
opinien an advisory cemmittee to wox-k with t!1e Planning Commission sheuld
not be appeinted from the Chamber of Commerce. The matter was referred to
the City Council for their informatien.
Letter from the Arcadia Central Business District Property Owners
Associatien, referred te this Commissien by the City Ceuncil, recommended
that a study be ~ade of parking facilities in the downtewn area. The
Secretary was in::structed te thank the asseciation for their interest in the

matter and advise them that the Commission will expect their cooperation
when such a study is undertaken.
Letter from Los Angeles Traffio Association advised of the formation
of a gr:'oup to study the freeway problem. Mr. Robertson and Mr. Berky ,vere
appointed to serve on a Freeway Committee.
Application of Ellen M. Morgan to divide a lot on Live Oak Avenue, was
referred to Mr. Welckert and Mr. Anderson to investigate .and report.
Resolution No. 28, recommending the rezoning of a portion of Fairview
Avenue from Zone R-l to Zone R-3, was introduced and read.
Motion by ?/II'. Robertson, seconded by WI!'. Welckert, and carried, that
Resolution No. 28 be adopted.

Final map of Tractl6979, located on the west side of Santa Anita
Avenue north of Sierra Madre Boulevard, was considered. Motion by Mr.
Weickert. seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried that final approval be
reoommended, subject to a 25-foot setback line on Santa Anita Avenue.
Revised tentative map of Tract 16593, located on the north side of
Palm ~ive west of Santa Anita Avenue was considered. Motion by Mr.
Welckert, seconded by Mr. Robertson and carried tha.t the revised map be
recommended for approval.
Tentative map of Tract 13184, located on the west side of Baldwin
Avenue, south of Orange Grove Avenue, was considered. Motion by Mr. Weickert,
seconded by Mr. Andel'son and carried that tentative approval be recommended
subjeot to Singing Wood Drive and Hampton Road being dedicated to meet the
old dedicated portion of these streets to the west, and the improvement of
the stl'eets including bridges or culvel'ts across the flood control channel.
v '< Final map of Tract No. 16803, located east of Santa Anita Avenue and
north of Louise Avenue was considered.
Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. Berky and carried that final
approval be recommended.
Protest petition from owners of property on Las Flores Avenue west of
Second Avenue, was considered, also oral protests regarding proposed improve-
ments on lots 1 and 2 of Tract lS932. In the opinion of the Commission,
this is not a matter over which the City would have jurisdiction, and should
be settled by agreement between the property owners.
Motion by Mr. Berky, seconded by ~~. Weickert and carried that the
meeting adjourn.
