PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE REVISED
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held for the
proposed project, as described below. Please note the new hearing date and
time below (was January 11, 2022). The Historic Preservation Commission will
review the proposed request and forward a recommendation to the City Council.
As part of the City of Arcadia’s COVID-19 transmission mitigation efforts, the
January 25, 2022 Historic Preservation Commission meeting will be held virtually
(live stream) and via Zoom to allow members of the public to observe and
address the meeting virtually.
A. A Categorical Exemption from CEQA pursuant to Section 15308,
Class 8 pertaining to Actions by Regulatory Agencies for
Protection of the Environment such as designation of historic
resources; and
B. Historic Landmark Permit No. HL 21-01
Request: To designate the Arcadia Woman’s Club building at 324 S. 1st Avenue
as a local landmark because of significant local events in Arcadia’s history that
had occurred within this building and the building is an intact example of Spanish
Colonial Revival architecture. The building is also one of the oldest institutions in
the City and has been active throughout much of the City’s history.

Persons wishing to comment on the project and/or environmental documents may do so at the public hearing or by submitting written
statements to Planning Services prior to the January 25, 2022 hearing. This notice was mailed and published on January 13,2022. The staff
report for this item will be available on the City’s website at www.ArcadiaCA.gov after 5:30 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022. City Hall will
be closed on January 14, 2022 and January 17, 2022.
Per Government Code Section 65009 – If you challenge this project in court or in administrative hearing, you may be limited to raising only
those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City of
Arcadia, or prior to the public hearing.
