On account of the meeting of the Southern California Planning Congress held in Elsinore, the regular meeting of the City Planning Commission was adjourned until Thursday, October 26, 1950, at 8:00 o'clock, P.M. Pursuant to the foregoing adjournment, the City Planning Oommission me~ in adjourned regular meeting with Chairman Anderson presiding. PRgSENT: two anderson, Berky, Robertson, Smith, Weickert, Klomp, Nicklin, Ross and Talley. ABSEi'IT: IJr. Knutson and Sorenson. The minutes of ~he meeting of October 5, 1950, were approved as written and mailed. The request of V. R. Clark for permission to divide a lot at 648 ~. Camino Real was held until next meeting to allow further study and check of property ownership. The request of E. E. Evinger for division of property at the east end of Danimere Avenue was considered. Motion by 1Iir. ~Ieickert, seconded by ;.ll'. Smith and carried that the division be approved as shown on the map submitted, provided the street shown is fully improved to the satis- faction of the City Engineer and Street Superintendent. The applications of the Fron'Gier Drive-In and 'Che Lodge Oil Co. for permission to erect signs outside the setback lines were considered. ~otion by ~w. Smith, seconded by rJr. Robertson and carried that the two requeats be tabled pending further stud;)'" and that the Chairman appoint a committee 'Co study the setback requirements to see if modification is needed. Patricia Foley for a zone variance at ~an Rafael Road and San Miguel Drive to allow the erection of a duplex was considered. An open letter of protest, siened by 18 surrounding prop- erty owners, was read. Dr. Foley denied 'Chat h!3 had ever had an offer for the lot. Motion by Mr. Robertson that the application be recoIllIl1ended :for denial, and that a Resolution be drawn accordingly. Said motion was seconded b~" Mr. ileickert and carried by the following vote: AYES: l~. Anderson, Berky, Robertson, Smith and veickert. NOES: None. ABSENT: ~~. Knutson and Sorenson. The application of Ingegerd Isakson for a zone vro'iance on Christina Street to allow automobile parking was considered. Protest petition signed by 10 surrounding proper'Cy owners was read. Horace Cline, now building at 50 Christina Street, protested the proposed variance on the ground that there is now sufficient parking area in the C-2 Zone. Mr. marks stated that ~e4ltd notified 1~. Cline of t~ proposed variance, and had offered to re-buy the lot, or trade for another location. Mr. Bolesworth, representing the Sat'eway Stores stabed they wo,uld co,nform with any reasonable requirement for a fence or wall. l,;otion by ,,!t'o Robertson, seconded by !~. Anderson and carried that the matter be held for further stUQF., and for conference with 1~. ManusI'. Mrs. H. o. Carter, property owne1' at Camino Real and ~ighth Avenue, protested the establishment of a riding trail along the Santa Anita VI.ash. The Secretary W:.l.S instructed to attempt to secure a map of the entire trail, and then a public hearing would be held on the matter. Request of D. M. McDonald for permission to construct a second dwelling on a lot on La Cadena Avenue, containing 9583 square feet, was considered. Hotion by Mr. Anderson, seconded by j,;r. Steager, 200 ~alm Drive, for permission to divide the south 60 feet of lot 95 and the south 60 feet of the east 40 feet of lot 94, Tract No. 13188, was considered. Motion by l~. Smith, seconded by j~. Robertson and carried that the application be granted, provided all setback regulations are complied with. <,I Request of Harry L. Hufford to divide property at the southwest corner of Holly Avenue and :Taomi Avenue, and the request of Paul Ferguson to divide property at the southeast corner of Rolly il.venue and lla,omi Avenue were held for study, and to confer with NIZ'. j,iansur. Request of D. E. Turner for a change of setback on the south side of Sierra Madre Boulevard along Tract No. 14257, ~as considered. Motion by l,fr. Smith, seconded by jyfr. Ileickert and carried that this Commission recommend a change of setback to 55 feet from the center line of Sierra Madre Boulevard. v Final map of proposed Tract No. 14257 was presented for approval. !.lotion by jlir. Sharkey for a change of setback at 155 Genoa Street was held for study, and a survey of the enoire block. The matter of the proposed zoning of the Pacific l;;lectric right of way was referred to Mr. Lansur for recommendation. The matter of approval of the Master Plan of Freeways was held for study and consultation wit11 Kr. Mansur. The matter of granting easemenos for a riding tr.ail was held for study and consideration after the public hearing proposed to be held. Motion ,by ~~. Robertson, seconded by ~fr.
