The City Planning Commission met in regular meeting with Chairman
Anderson presiding.

ABSENT: Mr. Knutson.
The minutes of the meeting of December 21st, 1950, were ordered
approved as written and mailed.
Pursuant to notice given, a public hearing was held on the appli-
ca1;ion of Harry B. Fox and Kenneth M. Coke, dba Equip. Rent Co., 82 H. Las
Tunas Drive, for an extension of two years in the time limit imposed in the
existinG zone variance allowing an equipment rental yard, recommended by
ohis Commission by Resolution No. 2~ and bTanted by the City Council by
Resolution No,. 2002. 'rVlO written protests were filed, one from Ivan K. Ross:
18 Pamela Road, and one from Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Olsen, 177 Sandra Avenue,
each of which were beyond ohe 300 foot distance from the property involved.
W~. De Cenzo, 119 Las Tunas Drive, complained of ohe noise and yard lights
at the present installation. Resolution No. 39 recommend:i.ng the granting
of the extension of time, under certain conditions, was intr',oduced and read.
Motion by llir. Robertson that Resolution No. 39 be adopted. Said motion was
seconded oy r:ir. Smith and carried by l;he following vote:
AYE.S: Mr. Anderson, Berky, Robertson, Smith, Sorenson and \'Ieickert.
NOEs: None.
ABSENT: 1~. Knutson.
Resolution No. 38 recommending the granting of ohe application of
Carl D. ~homas and Ruth B. Thomas, owners, and Collins Radio Company, optionee
for a zone variance to allow certain commercial uses on property located
at the northwest corner or Santa Anita Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, was
introduced and read and its conditions discussed. Motion by w~. Smith that
Resolution No. 38 be adopted. Said motion was seconded by JAr. Sorenson
and carried by the following vote:
AYES:
Mr. Anderson, Berky, RObertson, Smith, Sorenson and Veickert.
NOES:
None.
ABSENT: t~. Knutson.
Letter from the Los Angeles metropolitan Traffic Association sub-
mitted certain information on the construction of freeways and requested
approval in prinCiple the proposed freeway construction program now being
considered by the nIetropoli tan Transportation Engineering Board. Mr. Man:mr,
planning consultant, has previously recommended such approval, subject to a
distinct understanding that the location of the San Bernardino Freeway, as
sbown on accompanying map, is not ap~roved. Motion by 1~. Berlq, seconded
by ~~. Sorenson and carried that this Comnission recommend che acceptance
of l~. ~ansur's recommendation.
I v-Application of Kolman Hoffman, 1004 S. Mayflower Avenue, for per-
mission to divide his lot, nou 10~.5 feet wide, into two lots, each 53.75
feet, was referred to 1~. Smith and r.1r. Sorenson to investigate. As the
commi~tee was familiar with the territory, motion was made by Mr. Smith,
seconded b~ Mr. Sorenson and carried that the application be approved.
