The City Planning Commission met in regular meeting. In the
absence of Chairman Anderson, l~. Smith presided as Chairman pro-
tem.

PRESENT: Mr. Berky, Smith, Sorenson, Weickert, Klomp, Nicklin, Ross,
aIld Talley.
ABSENT: Mr. Anderson, Robertson and Mansur.
The minutes of the meeting of March 27th, 1951, were ordered
approved as written and mailed.
. Application of S. Grant Young to divide the north 45 feet of
lot 6 and the south 30 feet of a portion of lot 7, Tract No. 13894,
on Claridge st., and also the west 140 feet of the north 139.26
feet of lot 7, was considered. Motion by Mr. Smith, seconded by
Mr. Weickert and carried that the application be approved, Bubject
to the following conditions:
1. Entrance to be not less than 25 feet wide.
2. Portion of lot 7 to be 140 feet on north line.
3. Applicant to furnish a survey map.
v Application of James S. Coates to divide the South 125 feet of
the north 235 feet of the east 60 feet of the west 268.78 feet of
lot 22. F. A. Geier Tract, located on Short Street, was considered.
Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. Berky and carried that the
application be approved.
I Application of William E. Leer, Jr., to divide a portion of
lots 7 and 10, Block 94, Santa Anita Tract, owned by Lloyd L. Austin,
was considered. Motion by Mr. Sorenson, seconded by Mr. Weickert
and carried that the application be given tentative approval, sub-
ject to the following:
1. Furnish accurate survey map.
2. Construct water and sewer lines, to satisfaction of the
Water Superintendent and Bity Engineer.
3. Dedicate easements for the above water and sewer I1nes.
4. Provide 30 foot private road right of way, with 24 feet
paved to conform to City specifications.
Application of Frances Penprase to divide property at 379 W.
Duarte Road, and application for a change of setback on a portion
of the property, was referred to Mr. Berky and Mr. Sorenson to
investigate.
Tentative map of Tract No. 15874, located in county territory,
south of Live Oak Avenue and east of Baldwin Avenue, was submitted
for recommendation. Motion by Mr. Welckert, seconded by I~. Sorenson
and carried that approval be recommended.
Application of Lem Ward to divide property south of Briargate
Lane was referred to Mr. Weickert and Mr. Smith to investigate.
City Attorney Nicklin presented and read the title of Resolution
No. 45 declaring the intention of the Commission to institute pro-
oeedings for rezoning certain property on Foothill Boulevard from
Zone C-2 to Zone C-3. Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. Berky
and carried that the reading of the body of the Resolution be waived.
Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by ~w. Berky and carried that
Resolution No. 45 be adopted.

Racommendation of Mr. Mansur relative to the creation of a
Modifioation Committee to grant limited modifications of the Zoning
Ordinance was discussed. Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr.
Berky and carried that the matter be referred to the City Attorney.
Motion by Mr. Berky, seconded by Mr. Sorenson and carried that
the proposed sign ordinance submitted by Mr. Mansur be submitted
to the City Attorney.
Motion by Mr. Berky, seconded by ~~. Sorenson and carried that
the meeting adjourn.
