PRESENT: rnr. Anderson, Smith, Sorenson, ITeickert, Mansur, Nicklin, Ross and Talley. ABSENT: Mr. Berky and Robertson. The minutes of the meeting of A~ril 24th, 1951, were ordered approved as written and mailed. -.- - Pursuant to notice given. a public hearing was held on the proposed change of zone from Zone C-2 to Zone 0-3 on the property on Foothill Blvd. between Tindalo Road and Fifth Ave. Protests were registered by Mr. Guardalabene, Mr. Hubbert, Mr. Napier, b~. Basey, Ny. Billing, Mr. Hubbard, Mr. Kaufman, raargeuri te Wolf, Mr. McPherson, Paul Snyder, John Hawkins and ~~s. Patton. Protests centered on lots being too small to pro- vide parking space. Also that the parking space was not requir- ed in other areas. ~~. Pagano recommended the change to C-3. 1~. Mansur explained the use of all the property on Foothill, and the benefits of Zone C-3. This first hearing was closed. to be considered again on May 22nd. 4 Application of Frank R. sprague to divide property at northeast corner of Second Avenue and Longden Avenue was con- sidered. Motion by Mr. Sorenson, seconded by Mr. V.ei cltert and carried that permission be granted to divide as 1'0110ws:'I'!..North 75' of lot 5 and North 751 of West 27' of lot 6; South ~I of Lot 5 and South'\"'F.a1 of \'Iest 27' of lot 6; East'.75' .of 10t.6, Tract No. 14966. J Application of Florence Macmillan to divide property on First Avenue south of Gamino Real was considered. !,Iotion by Mr. Sorenson, seconded by Mr. Smith and carried that permission be granted to divide as follows: South 65 feet of west 152.37 feet; north 65 feet of south 130 feet of west 152.37 feet; and north 70 feet of south 200 feet of west 152.37 feet of lot 24, Arcadia Acreage Tract. Application of E. H. Galloway, 1921 S. Sixth Avenue, to divide property was considered. Motion by 1w. Sorenson, seconded by Mr. Smith and carried that permission be granted to divide the east 230.92 feet of the north 110 feet of the south 322.5 of lot 112, Arcadia Acreage Tract, subject to the grant- ing to the City of Arcadia an easement for sewer, water and other utilities over that portion of the west 225 feet of the east 455.92 feet of the north 110 feet of the south 322.5 feet lying northerly of the easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Wisteria Avenue. .' Application of J.E. Rongstad to divide property at Palm Drive and El Monte Avenue was considered. The Chairman explained the plan to provide right of way for the extension of Palm Drive easterly from El l,lonte AvenUe. Motion by Mr. Sorenson, seconded by Mr. Smith and carried that the applica- tion be denied. Application of E. H. Lindgren to divide property at the southerly extension of Briar Gate Lane was considered. A letter from Fire Chief Nellis stated that a narrow roadway was not satisfactory to his department. McIntosh to divide property at the easterly extension of Briar Gate Lane was considered. Mo- tion by Mr. Smith that the matter be neld for consideration witn tne application of E. H. Lindgren. Said motion was seconded by Mr. Weickert and carried by the following vote: AYES: Mr. Anderson, Smith and Weickert. NOES: Mr~Sorenson. ABSENT: Mr. Berky and Robertson. Communication from the Regional Planning Commission gave notice of a pUblic hearing on May 17th on an application to establish a sanatarium near Live Oak Avenue a:l d I.icCullocn Avenue. Motion by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Weickert and carried that ~w. Mansur investigate the proposition and confer with the Chairman on a course of action. Letter from R. A. McLaren, 152 La Porte street, re- garding the water supply of tne City, was read and ordered filed. Application of Ellen M. Morgan to divide property on Live Oak Avenue was referred to Mr. Smith and ~w. Robertson to investigate. Motion by Mr. Sorenson, seconded by Mr. Weickert and carried tnat the meeting adjourn. f :;t~r
