The City Planning Commission met in regular meeting with Chairman
Anderson presiding. '
PRESENT: Mr. Anderson, Berky, Knopp, Robe~tson, Smith, Weickert, Klomp
Nicklin, Mansur and Talley. '
ABSENT: Mr. Sorenson and Ross.
The minutes of the meeting of June 12th, 1951, were ordered approved
as written and mailed.
Mr. Mansur submitted written report on the applicatiGn of Katie Mae
English, 2331 S. Sixth Avenue, and Stewart-Mooney, Inc., to divide lots.
Each is a case where building as requested might prevent future subdivis-
ion of the interior of the large blocks, and Mr. Mansur recommended that
each application be denied. Mr. Stewart discussed and urged the granting
of his request to divide property on ~ifth Avenue. Mr. Livingston and Mr.
Dennis, owne~s of p~ope~ty west of that of ~. stewart, stated they did
not want a street througn their property at the present time. Motion.,by
Mr. Smith, seoonded by Mr. Robertson and-carried that the applioation of
stewart-Mooney, Inc.,~~e de_nled, an~that tIle _matter_be given further study.

/ feet of lots 19, 20 and 21, Bloc~ 65, Santa Anita Tract, be granted.
IAPPlication of Volta and Theo. Briggs, to divide property at 510 W.
Camino Real was discussed. Mrs. Briggs urged the approval of the applica-
tion. Motion by Mr. Knopp, seconded by Mr. Robertson and carried that
the application be denied, on the ground that a 12 foot access lane was
not in the best interests of the City.
Application of W. D. Millard, 530 E. Camino Real, to divide prope~ty
at the southwest corner of SiXth Avenue and Camino Real was refer~ed to
Mr. Smith and Mr. Knopp to investiga!e.
Communication from R. C. Ellis requested permission to start con-
struction on two residential units, with garages, on Colorado Boulevard,
east of Lorena street, prior to the filing of a final subdivision map.
Mr. Nicklin stated that the only way to change the zone variance was by
another variance, and suggested that the uni'ts might be constructed,
but that the garages should be delayed. No action was taken.
E. N. Lindgren submitted another request to divide property at the
north end of WoodrUff Lane. Also consent of the property owners to the
south for the extension of the street. Motion by Mr. Smith, seconded
by Mr. Berky and carried that the matter be referred to Mr. Mansur for
study and report.
Motion by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Weickert and carried that tb.e
City Attorney be instructed to draw a resolution approving the applica-
tion of Fred sweeney for a aone variance at 180 W. Huntington Drive.
City Attorney Nicklin presented and read Resolution No. 48 recommend-
ing the granting of the zone variance requested by Fred sweeney at 180
W. Huntington Drive. Motion by Mr. Weickert, seconded by Mr. Robertson
and carried that Resolution No. 48 be adopted.

City Attorney Nicklin presented and read Resolution No. 47 recommend-
ing that no action be taken in the proposed rezonlng or properties on
FOothill Boulevard to Zone C-3 untll a derlnite program and plan is worked
out for area involved. Motion by Mr. Robertson, Seconded by Mr. Berky and
carried that Resolution No. 47 be adopted.
Mr. Smith suggested and it was decided that the subdivislon committee,
Mr. Klomp, Mr. Nlcklln, Mr. Mansur, the Fire Chief, Pollee Chle1', Water
Superintendent, City Engineer, and~treet Superintendent should meet at
Carpenter's at 5:00 P.M. on July lOth to discuss subdivlsions and zoning
in general.
Chairman AnderS) n appointed Mr. Berley as a member 01' the Subdivision
Committee to replace Mr. Knutson, reslgned.
Motion by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. SlIlith and carried that the
meeting adjourn.
