The City Planning Commission met in resumar meeting with Chairman
Anderson presiding.
PRESENT: M:z.o. Anderson, Berky, Robertson, Smith, Sorenson, Ueickert, Klomp,
~:icJdin, :loss and Talley.

The oinutes of the meeting of June 26th, 1951, were ordered approved

, Ap~lication of Lam Uard to divide property into ~vo lots at the north
end of Uoodruff Lane was oonsidered. An unfavorable opinion was expressed
in the report of Mr. Mansur. Mr. Smith stated that he did not favor private
streets, but this property was all that was available for subdivision at
this location, and could not be extended. ~otion by lIr. Smith, seoonded by
~r. Berky and carried that the application be approved, subject to the
folloWing restrictions:
1. Provide a 20 foot radius paved cul-de-sao at the north end of street.
2. Provide a bumper strip at the north of the cul-de-sao, not less than
two feet wide and not more than one third the width of the lot.
3. The houses shall be built with a uniform setback with those to the
south.

20 feet 1'8ved.

6. ',[ater and sewer lines shall be extended to the satisfaotion of the

to lots, each with 68.75 feet frontage on Sixth Avenue, WEW o,onsidered.
Motion by Mr. Smith, seconded by AIr. Ueickert and~arried that the applica-
tion be approved.
Communioation from Meyer Wolkoff requested permission to rent his
building at 654 ~. Huntington Drive, located in Zone 0-2, for light assembly
work. The Secretary was instructed to request further clarif10ation of the
request, otherwise he might apply for a zone variance or a zone ohange.

Application of Oarl D. and Ruth B. Thomas, and Arcadia-Monrovia Realty
for a change of zone from Zone R-l to Zone R-3 on property at the north-
west oorner of Santa Anita ~venue and Colorado ~oulevard was set for hear-
ing on July 24th and August 14th, 1951.
Final map of Traot lio. 16772, looated at the northeast corner of
Lorena Street and Colorado Boulevard, was Bonsidered. Motion'by Mr. Weickert,
seoonded by Mr. Robertson and oarried that final approval be recommended.

The City Attorney ~resented and the Secretary read Resolution No. 49,
making certain findings and recommendations relative to the ~roposed amend-
ment of Ordinance Ro. 760, by amending Sections 13 and 16 thereof, ~ursuant
to hearings held on E:ay 22nd and June 12th. The amendment would epeoific-
ally ~rohibit the use of merry-go-rounds, ferris wheels and midways in
Zone S-l, and allow their use only by zone variance, as provided in Seotion
16. Mr. Robertson stated that he was not satisfied with the olarity of the
requirements of the proposed ohange, and thought that the matter should be
given further study. Motion by Mr. Smith that Resolution No. 49 be adopted.
Said motion was seconded by Yr. Weickert and carried by the following vote:
AYZS: Mr. Anderson, Berky, Smith, Sorenson and Weickert.
NO~: ur. Robertson.
ABSEliT: Mr. Kno~p.
llr. Smith reported that the Subdivision Committee had met with the
other members of the Commission and the De~artment Reads to discuss the
proposed amendment of the Subdivision Ordinance to allow the acceptance of
half streets, cul-dcl-sac streets and streets less than 60 feet in width.
Also that a start was to be made on a comprehensive study of streets and
future streets, and that further reports would follow.
