The Subdivision Committee, along with other members of the Commission
and ~he Department Heads met at Carpenterls Res~aurant to discuss subdivis-
ions and zoning in general. Mr. Smith presided.
PRESENT: Mr. Anderson, Berky, Robertson, Smith, Sorenson, WeicllElrt, Klomp,
Nicklin, Police Chief Anderson, Fire Chief Nellis, City Engineer Ross and
Street Superintendent Talley.
The proposed amendment of the Subdivision Ordinance to allow the
acceptance of half streets, cul-de-sac streets and stree~s less than
60 feet in width was discussed.
Matters discussed in ~he acoeptance of half width streets were the
control of the undeveloped side and the installation and financing of
water and sewer lines.
Matters concerning streets less than 60 feet in width were naprow
parkways as it affected the installation of drives, walks, trees and
utilities and meters.
It was decided to proceed with the development of fu~ure street
plans on Shee~ Maps numbered 21 and 22, and then to meet with the City
COW1cil for discussion as to whether or not to proceed wi~h other sections.
Police Chief Anderson and Fire Chief Nellis each expressed an un-
favorable reaction to the proposed acceptance of sub-standard streets.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 and the members went to ~he City Hall
for the regular Planning Commission meeting.
