below. This request was reviewed by the Historic Preservation Commission at its January 25, 2022
meeting, at which time they recommended approval of the project.
A. Categorical Exemption from CEQA pursuant to Section 15308, Class 8
pertaining to Actions by Regulatory Agencies for Protection of the
Environment such as designation of historic resources; and
B. Historic Landmark Permit No. HL 21-01
Request: To designate the Arcadia Woman’s Club building at 324 S. 1st Avenue as a local landmark
because of significant local events in Arcadia’s history that had occurred within this building and the
building is an intact example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. The building is also houses one
of the oldest institutions in the City and has been active throughout much of the City’s history.
