The Secretary read a lJY110paie of' the pro- posed changes. Mr. llimsur explained in some detail tho need tol' end the ei'!'ect of the changes. Dr. Gilbert E. Taylor, 1130 West Huntillgton Drive. asked about the ef'fect on his existing office in Zone R-3, and 1II8B told that it would 1lS&UlllII the etatus of' a non-conforming use. All mambers of the Commission ~eed that more parJdng space should be required, but did not agree On the tIlIllIunt. It \11lJ,S suggested that 1.25 spaces, and also 1.5 spaces per dwolling W1it be required. Mr. Mansur stated thEtt a recent survey of the City 01' San Mateo showed en average of 1.25 care per clwA1HI\g W1it, although one section of the residential district showed an average of' 1.4 cars. Motion by tlr. Mr. Knopp also discussed the need of working with the Reoreation Committee to\7!U'd the developmaut ot areas for uee as recreational space for such groups as Gil"l and Boy Scouts.
