The City Planning Commission met in regular Jnee't1ng with Cha1rman Balser
presiding.

The rn1nutes of the meeting of October 26 \/llX'8 approved as written and
mailed.
Pureuant to notice giv~n, a public hearing IoIlIS held on the proposal to
establish zoning on oity-owned property on the north side of' Live Oak Avenue,
east or Sixth Avenue and certElin private4' owned property adjacent on the west,
pl'ooosed to be annexed to the City of Arcadia. No person desired to be heard and
no camnunioations were received. The Cha1rman declared the hearing olosed and
the matter was discussed. Motion by Mr. Robertsnn, seconded by Mr. Sorenson IIJ1d
carried th"t the City Jlttorney be instructed to draw the neceesary resolution
recommending that the above described city property aM privately owned property
be recommended to be olaced :!.,n Zone R-.3.
Late in tlte meeting, M..... William Dean, 2514 south Sixth Jlvenue, addressed
the Carnm1ssion Nti inquired what action hod been taken in the proposed zoning of
city-owned nroperty and apologized for havinr been late in appearing at the meet-
ing. Aftsr explanation of the action taken, Mr. Dean had no further cOllIIIElnts to
llI8ke .
Pursuant to notice given, a public hearing ws held on the proposed alloca-
tion of costs to be charged to the owners of' property adjaeent to proposed Tract
No. 19712 ,mo may desire to avail themselves of' 1mprcrvlllllS!l.ts construoted b7 the
sulxiiv1der. A report from the City Engineer was reed, setting aut the method
used to apnort1an the costs BIId the amatlDt of' monsy proposed to be allotted to
individual parcels of land. A ClUlIwuUdcat10n from Attarneye Rinehprt, Merriam,
Parker and Berg, representiDg Mol:!y S. MUlBrd, ower of' property at 1021 South
Second Avmme, protested any apportiO!llll9Dt aga5nst their client's property on

on by Mr. Knopp, who f'el t that a plot plan and plan of the sign should be 13Ub-
m1tted. Motion b7 Mr. Knopp, eeconded by Mr. Daly nnd carried that the matter
be referred back to the applicant to submit the above plot plan and sign plan.

Avenue vas reported on by Mr. Sorenson and Mr. Daly. Motion by Mr. SoNnsCln,
secouded by l-lr. Anderson and carried that permission to divide the South 60 feet

A secoIld revised tentative map of Traat No. 18512, located on Greenfield
Avenue south of Duarts Road, was considered. Motion by Mr. Robertson, seconded
by f.lr. Knopp alld carried that the eacond revised tentative map of Tract No. 18512

1. That Greenfield Avenue be dedicated 60 feet wide;

A cnmmnn'cation from the City MaMger requested that the Pla.nning Cammis-
sion considernud report on the request of the Los Angeles County Flood Control
District that the City of Aroad1e. accept and open for street purposes the south
haJj' of Doshier Avenue, east of Highland Oaks Drive which said street. would be
improved by the Flood Control Districtf~' 'MotiOn bY kr; 'Aildersonf secOnded by
Mr. Daly and carried that the matter bs referred to the City Enginser and Plan-
ning C<:'l1su1tent for investigation and repart and thnt the conditions ci: appI.wal at
original subdivision be investigated.
A notice from the Regional Planning Camniseion of a public hearillg to be
held c~nceTD1ng the change of zone on Jetrries Avenue near Peck Road was ordered
filed.
Ssm V. Gordon addressed the Ccmmdss10n and requested pe1'lll1ssion to lIithdraw
his application for zona variance on property at 802 North First Avenue and file
a new application askiJIg for a change of zona to 70ne R-2. The Chairman informed
him that he might :file the appl1cwtion if he so desired and suggested that he
contact the Secretary for the required detaileD
'!he Planning Consultant submitted a written report on the proposed change
of zone to Zona 0-0 or 0-1 affecting property on Duarte Road in the vicinity of
First and Second Avenues. The Chairman reqnested that copies of the report be
sent to all the COlllIIl1ssioners for study and that if possible a map showing
present And proposed zoning be included. '
The Planning Consultant submitted maps numbered 8, 14, 15, 16 and 22, shawing
suggested locations for f'uture etreets. The Chairman ordered that the maps be
kept on file in the Secretary's otrice for j,nupact:f.on and stlldy by the Comnds-
s:l.on and Mr. Robertson requested that copies be submitted to the SUbdivision.6am-
mUtee.
Mr. Knopp brought up the subject of the construction ot a new atreet between
Duarte Road and Huntington Plal!9 along the east side of Arcp.dia Wash, which was
agreed to lit the time El Monte Avenue, bet~lElen Duarte Road and amtington Place,

01' the location of the -present UIlcontrolled wash channel, thE!. oonstruction of the'
