RECOJ\lMENDDlG THE DENIAL OF A ZONING V ARIAi'ICE TO ALLOW CERTAIN COMMERCIAL USES IN A RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT ON THE EAST SIDE OF SECOIID AVENUE. BETWEEN DUARTE ROAD AND ALICE STREET IN SAID CITY. THE CITY PLANNING CO~OOISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: VffiEREAS. on the 15th day of June. 1949. there was filed with this Commission the petition of Joe E. Earll and Lou G. Earll. requesting a zone varianoe on the following described property. in the City of Arcadia, towit: Lots 1 to 6 inclusive. and lots 12 to 17 inolusive, and the vacated alley adjaoent, all in Block 6lt. Santa Anita Tract. as shown on map recorded in Book 16, Page 58. Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, ~ocated on tb:e East side 0 f Seoond Avenue. between Duarte Road and Alice street. and ex- tending Easterly 282.5 feet. and known as 221 E. Duarte Road. to permit the following uses: 1. Poultry and rabbit slaughter. 2. Retail florist shop. 3. Retail garden supplies, 4. Retail meat and poultry market and/or delicatessen store. 5. Nursery for the growing and sale at retail and/or wholesale of flowers or plants and the oonstruction, alteration. and maintenance and use of a building or buildings in connection therewi th, and WHEREAS, said property is noVl located in a residential zone. towit: R-2 Zone. and WHEREAS, after notice as required by Ordinance No. 760, a pUblic hearing on the matter was held before this Commission on the 8th day of JUly. 1949. and all interested parties Vlere given a full opportunity to be heard. and WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Commission the maintenanoe of the several oommercial uses hereinbefore enumerated in a residential zone -1- 2 - - . . . . The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall forward a copy to the City Council of the City of Arcadia. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted by the City Planning Commission at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of August, 1949, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Anderson, Ingstad, Pippin, Shaw, Stoner and Sullivan NOES : None.
