RESOLUTION NO. 13
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLAN1iING COlll~ISSION OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, RECOllil'ilEiIDING THE OPENING
OF A l.~ROPOSED STREET TO BE KNOWN AS SEVENTH
AVENUE IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOHS:

YffrnREAS, there was referred to this Commission by the
City Council of the City of Arcadia, for consideration, a request
for the opening of a new street extending south from Duarte Road,
in the City of Monrovia to Camino Real, in the City of Arcadia,
and approximately mid-way between Sixth Avenue and Eighth Avenue,
and

VmEREAS, this Commission has conducted a public hearing
on this subject and all interested parties have been given a full
opportunity to be heard,
NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the majority of the
Commission recommend to the City Council of the City of Arcadia
.
that the petition for the opening of the aforesaid street be
approved and granted for the following reasons:
1. It is the concensus of the majority of this Commis-
sion that the extension of existing dead-end streets and the
opening of new streets are in the best interests of the City
and the public welfare, and is in accordance with the comprehen-
sive development of this rapidly growing community;
2. The longer the period of delay, the greater the
possibility of other ~provements being made which will add to
the cost of this necessary project;
3. The owners of the majority of the properties along
Sixth Avenue and Eighth Avenue, between Duarte Road and Camino
Real appear to favor the opening of this proposed street;

'Chan one inch (In) in heightll, and a statemen'C in six or eigh'C
point type, setting forth a desctiption of the property under
consideration, the nature of the proposed change and the 'C1me
and place at which the public hearing on the matter will be held,
not more than one hundred (100') feet apart, on each side of
'Che street on which said properties front, for a distance of not
less than three hundred (300') feet in each direction from said
properties.
The Secretary shall also mail a written notice, not less
than 'Cen (10) days prior to the date of said hearing, to the
owners of' property within a radius: of three hundred (300') feet
of the exterior boundaries of the properties to be changed,
. using for this purpose 'Che last lmown name and address of such
owners as shown upon the assessment roll of 'Che City of Arcadia;
such la'Cter notice shall contain the same information as is
required in the posted notice as described above.
The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Re-
solution and shall forward a copy to the Ci'Cy Council of the Ci'Cy
of Arcadia.

adopted by the City Planning Commission on November 17, 1949,
by the following votes:
