RESOLUTION NO. 15.
A RESOL~rION OF THE CITY ~LAlfNING COJ~IISSION
OF THE CI'ry OF ARCADIA, RECOM~ffiNDING ~HE DENIAL
OF A ~ETITION FOR A VARIANCE AFFECTING CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY LOCATED ON 'rHE EAST SIDE OF HOLLY
AVENUE SOUTH OF V,ALNUT AVENUE, IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY t'LANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 6th of October, 1949, there was filed
with this Commission the petition of Norman o. Lund and J.
Errett Wilkinson, requesting a zoning variance on the follow-
ing described property, in the City of Arcadia, to wit:
The Southerly 100 ft. of Lots 22 and 23, Tract No.
12630. as shown on Map recorded in Book 238, pages
42-43 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County,
to permit erection and use of a single family dwelling. and
WHEREAS, said property is now located in a first,
one-family residential zone. to wit. R-O Zone. and
WHEREAS. after notice as required by the provisions
of Ordinance No. 760, a public hearing on the matter was held
before this Commission on the third day of November, 1949, and
all interested parties were given a full opportunity to be
heard, and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Commission a zoning
variance that would permit the dividing of a lot or lots in an
R-O Zone. and the building of another structure thereon would
be detrimental to the public welfare and injurious to surround-
ing property, and would adversely affect the comprehensive
general plan of this City,
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Commission
recommends to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that

be detrimental to the public welfare nor injurious to surround-
ing property, nor adversely affect the Comprehensive General
Plan of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Commission
recommends to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that the
aforesaid petition be approved and a conditional~iance granted
for the specified uses only, subject to the following terms
and conditions:
1. That the aforementioned property may be used for
the conduct of a Catholic convent, together with necessary
fences, walls, garages, driveways and entrances;

2. That in case anyone or more of the provisions or
conditions of this Resolution be violated, the property above
described shall revert to Zone R-l, as defined in said Ordinance
No. 760, and all of the rights and privileges herein granted
shall cease and terminate, in ~he event that any such violation
is not terminated within thirty days, or such further time as
the City Council may decide that the owners of said property,
in the exercise of due diligence, require to correct such vio-
lation, after the owners of said property have been given
written notice by the City Council of said violation or viola-
tions.

The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall forward a copy to the City Council of the
City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted by the City Planning Commission on December 15, 1949,
by the following votes:
