with the PlanniD~ COlnmiesion of the City of Arcadia the petition
of HYGiene Products Company, requesting a zoning variance on the
following described property, in ~10 City o~ Arcadia, to ~it:
Lot 29, Tract Jo. 6860, as shown on map recorded in
Book 78, pac;e 75 of [,;aps, ]ecords of Los i..n[;eles County,
and located at 4S North Third Avenue,
to ;>ermit the above described propert;}' to be used for certain bi.lsi-
ness purposes, to wit, a driveway for cO!:"iluercial and other vehicles
and as an entrance to the property located immediately ~est of the
aforesaid property;

zone, to wit, R-3 Zone, and

require and indicate the desirability of the rezoning requested
by the petitioners, since practically all of the aforementioned
property is now being utilized for multiple-dwelling purposes.
2. The petitioners have predicated in part their request
for rezoning on the basis that they are being subjected to hard-
ship under the present fire-zone restrictions effective on the
use of this land. The Commission agrees that the requirements of
the fire Ordinance in Zone C-2 should not be applied to the pro-
perty in question and that the application of such requirements
result in unnecessary hardship upon the owners of such property.
3. The action requested by the petitions is not contrary
to good planning practice and if permitted as herein recommended,
would have no harmful effect on the properties in the same general
area.
The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Re-
solution and shall forward a copy to the City Council of the City
of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
by the City Planning Cmmnission at a regular meeting held on the
