J . ~ RESOLUTION NO. 29 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING OOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA~ RECOMMENDING THE GRANTING OF A VARIANCE AFFECTIllIG CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 222 EAST HUNTINGTON DRIVE IN SAID CITY. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF 'l'HE CITY OF ARCADIA, CAr. I FORNIA , DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of June, 19.50, there was filed 11'1 th this Commission the petition of R. J. Lockmiller requesting a zone varianoe on the following desoribed property in the City of bcadia~ to wit: Lot 1 of Tract No. .520.5 in the City of Aroadia, County of Los AngeleB~ State of Callf'ornia~ as recorded in Book ~, Page 61 of Maps, in the offioe of the County Recorder of said County ~ to permit the ereotion~ maintenanoe and operation of an automobile laundry; and WHEREAS~ after notioe as required by Ordinance No. 760, a public hearing on the matter was held before this Commission on the 6th day of J'u1y~ 19.50, and all interested parties were given a 1'ull OppOl'tunl ty to be heard, NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that this Commission make the following 1'indings and reoommenda tions to the Ci ty Oounoil of the C1 ty 01' Aroadia: I. There were no protests of any kind to petitioner'S request. II. That the property involved is of triangular shape~ bounded on two sides by public streets and on the third side by a railroad, which circumstances are exceptional and do not apply generally to the property in the same vicini ty and zone. III. That an automobile laundry as hereina1'ter recommended shell be hand operated and will be laoldng the obnoxious 1'eatures ordinarily resulting in automobile laundries as the use 01' meohanioal washers and d17'ers in permitted in Zone M-l. 29 1. - -. . ~ '- . following reasons. to-wit: 1. That the request of the petitioner is contrary to the spirit and intent of the Master Zoning Plan of the Oi ty of Arcadia which was adopt ed and became effective on June 3. 1949. after a series of public hearings. which plan was unanimously approved by this Planning Commission and by the City Council of the Ci ty of Arcadia. 2. That the granting of said request would permit the further encroachment of business and commercial . enterprises in a zone or district now designated for residential purposes. 3. That the granting of such request is not necessary for the preservation or enjoyment of any substantial property right of the applicant. nor are there exceptional or extraordinary circumstances applicable to the property involved that do not or would not apply generally to the other property in the same vicinity or zone. RESOLVED FURTHER. that the Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. and shall forward a . copy to the City Council in the City of Arcadia. I HEREBY CERTIFY. that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Planning Commission at a regular meeting held on the 20th day of July. 1950 by the following votes: AYES: Mr. Anderson.
