RESOLUTION NO. 74 - A
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CO~1MISSION OF TIlE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE
BUSINESS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENT SERVICING AND REPAIR AND MAN-
UFACTURING OF INSTRUMENT PARTS INCIDENTAL THERETO.
WHEREAS, Walter B. Marston requested permission to manufacture rotary
valves for musical instruments, in connection with the business of IllUsical instru-
ment servicing snd repair, and proposes to conduct such business on property in
Zone C-2 in the City of Arcadia; and.
WHEREAS, ambiguity has arisen concerning the appropriate classifioation of
suoh use within the mesning snd intent of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia,
particularly under Section 9-A-2 thereof; snd,
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting this Collllllission ascertained the facts and

fully considered the matter;
NO'd, THEREFORE, the City p"'nn;ng Commission of the City of Arcadia, does
hereby find, detennine, resolve and recollDnend as follows:
That the business of lI1U5ical instrument servicing and repair, and the manu-
facture of rotary valves in connection therewith, be deemed to be a use permissible
in Zone C-2 under Section 9-A-2 of Ordinance No. 760, upon the following conditions:
1. Not more than one (1) person shall be employed in the operation of any
power equipment in connection with suoh business.
2. Not more than ten (10) units of power-driven tools or equipment shall
be used on the premises or in connection with the business, and no more than one-half
(1/2) horse power motor shall be used on any such equipment or power-driven tools.
snd that no power equipment be operated other than between the hours of 8 A. M. and
6 P. M.
The recollDnendation hereby made shall be tantative, is restricted to the
. proposed location at 61 East Foothill Boulevard in the City of Arcadia, is l:im1ted to
a period not to exceed two (2) years, snd is subject to rescission at any time if' any
requirement hereinabove imposed is violated, or if experience demonstrates mat any
provision of Section 9-A-2 is violated in the conduct of such a business.
The Secretary shall certify to the adop'tion of this Resolution. and shall
forward a copy to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
