ARGAD_A, Cnn'ORIllA, REC'JHHElmn:G THE GRANTING OF A PETITION
FOR THE RECLASSIFICATION FROM ZONE R-.3 TO ZONE C-2 OF CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY PLAmUNG CO}jJ.lISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLO""S:
SECTION 1. That on the 14th day of Ma:y, 1952, there was filed with this
Coll!l'l:i.ssion the petition of Forrest L. \-1ilkinson and Mercelle lUlIdnson, as owners,
requesting a change of zone from Zone R-.3 to Zone C-2 on the following described
property in the City of Arcadia:
The >lest 70 feet of lot 124, Tract No. 27.31, as shown on map recorded
in Book 3.3, page 29 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, and being
located at 735 West Duarte Road.

That after due notice as required by the provisions of Ordinance No. 760 of the City
of Arcadia, public hearinps were duly held on the matter by and before this Commission
on the 10th and 24th days of June, 1952; that interested persons were given a full
opportunity to be heard and to present evidence at each of said hearings; that there
were no protests, oral or written, at either of said hearings to the granting of
the requested reclassification.
SECTION 2. That in the opinion of this Conunission the proposed reclassifi-
cation of the aforesaid property would not be detr:lJnentaJ. to the public welfare, nor
injurious to the surrounding property, and would not adverse~ affect the compre-
hensive general plan of the City of Arcadia; that the public convenience and the
eeneral welfare indicate the desirability of the requested reclassification; that
said prn,erty is adjacent to commercial property on the east, is located in a
rapidly developing commercial district, is across the street from an extensive off-
street parking development, and is in close proJdmity to an active and expan<ti.ng
~ business intersection.
SECTION 3. That this COJ1lJ11i.ssion recollJl1\~nd to the City Council of the City
of Arcadia that the aforesaid property be reclassified as C-2, be placed i.n Zone C-2,
and tilat Ordinance ~!o. 760 of the City of Arcadia be amended accordjnb~'

RESOLVED FURTHER, that this Commission reconnnend to the City Council of
the City of Arcadia, that said applicant's petition for a zone variance be denied.
RESOLVED FURTH;'R, that the Secretar;,' shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution, and shall forward a copy of the same to the City Council of the City of
Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City
Planning COI1I11lission at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of J~, 1952, by the
