OF A PETITION FOR THE RE-GLASSillCATION FROM ZONE R-1 TO ZONE C-2 OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERrY IN SAID CITY. WHEREAS, on J~ 3, 1952, there was filed with this COJDJD1ssion the petition of Joseph E. Rognstad, as owner, requesting a change of lIone !rom Zone R-l to Zone C-2 of the following described property in the City of Arcadia, to-tti.t: Lot 23, Tract No. 6641, as shown on map recorded in Book 126, page 61 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, except the east 120 feet thereof, and being located at the southeast comer 01' Baldldn Avenue and Las Tunes Drive; and WHEREAS, atter due notice as required by the provisions 01' Qrd;ru'""e No. 160 of the City 01' Arcadia, public hearings were ~ held on the matter by and before this Commission on the 12th and 26th days 01' August, 1952, at which times all . interested persons were given a f'l1ll opportunity to be heard and to present evidence. N<W, THEREFORE, the City Planning CODIIlIi.ssion of the City 01' Arcadia does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That there were protests to the proposed re-classitioation oonsisting in part to the objeotion to the re-classi1'ication 01' one parcel rather than considering the area as a whole and particularly the Las Tunas frontage, and in part to the objection to numerous undesirable uses which would be permissible it C-2 class11'ication be allowed. That with the e:xception of the northeast corner of Baldwin Avenue and Las Tunas Drive, the Las Tunas frontage from Baldwin Avenae easterly for man;y- blocks is soned R-l. That for protection, proper planning forb1ds the unquali.t'ied classification of the Las Tunas frontage in the area as Zone C-2. That the re-classitication of said property as presen~ requested will be detri- mental to the publ1c welfare and injurious to the adjacent properties and would be . contrary to the publ1c convenience and general welfare. SECTION 2. That for the foregoing reasons, this COIlIl1ission recOllllllend to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that said petit10n be denied. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adopt.ion of "this Resolution and shall forward a copy of the ssma to the City Council of the City of Arcadia. -:1.- 88 .' . . . . . . . SECTION 2. That for the foregoing reasons this COIlIlIission recommend to the City Council of tile City of Arcadia that said appliclUlt I s request be denied in full. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall fOl'llard a copy of the same to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
