RESOLU'l'ION IiO.92 A RESOLU'l'ION OF THE CITY PI.AlmING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMEND- IlfG THE GRANTIHG OF A ZOlfE VARIANCE AFFECTING CER'l'AlN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A PUBLIC SCHOOL THEREON. WHEREAS, the Arcadia City Planning Collllll1asion, by its Resolution No.84 adopted September 10, 1952, instituted proceedings for the consideration and possible granting of a zone variance upon tbe following descrlbed property, to-vit: The West 169.22 feet of Bast 1370 feet, except of streets, of Lot 3, Tract No.950, as shown on map recorded in Book 17, Page 25 of Maps, and Lots 1 to 12 inclusive, Tract No.11969, except of Flood Control Easement, as sbovn on III&P recorded in Book 259. Pages 36 and 37 of Maps, Records ot Los Angeles Count1', to permit the 8&111e to be used tor the construction, maintenance and operation of a public school; and WHEREAS, after Dotice required by Ordinance No.760 of said Cit1 a public hearing was duly beld on tbe I118tter b1 and before th1s Couua1ssion on the 23rd day ot September 1952, at which time all interested persons were given a full opportunit1' to be heard and to present evidence; NOW, THEREFORE, the Clty Planning Collllll1ssion or the City of Arcadia does hereby deterlll1ne and resolve as tollows: SECTION 1. That there were no protests to the granting of the proposed variance. That said propert1' is adjacent to an extena1ve park on the North through wbicb there 1s not and cannot be any aCCeBB) that th1s fact makes the property more suitable tor a pub11c school s1 te. That the granting of the variance herein recollllllended vill not be inconsistent with good planning practice or the provisions of tbe Master Zoning plan. or w1tb the present deve10plllent of the ne1ghborbood in wh1cb said property 1s located, nor will the grant- ing ot the variance' as bereinafter recolllllended adverse11 affect the comprehensive general plan. That further expansion ot the zoning to unl1m1ted commere1al uses would be premature and harmful in part tor tbe reason that there 1s more cOJlllDerc1a1 property in tbe general area tban the de- mand requires, and furtber expansioD of cOJlllDerc1al uses onl, pre- vents the orderl1' development ot tbe commun1t1' and retards the proper development thereof. SECTION 2. That for the foregoing reasons this Comm1sa10n reeoJlllDends to the C1ty Council of tbe City ot Arcad1a tbat the petit10n for rec1ass1f1cat1on ot the subject property be denied. SECTION 3. The Secretary sball certify to the adopt10n of th1s Resolut1on, and shall cause a copy of the same to be for- warded to the City Council of the City of Arcad1a.
